Bellbird Cottage - Lake Taupo Bach

The whole booking and entering process was easy. Very spacious for a little cottage, plenty of supplies like shower gel, towels, tea/coffee as well as handy cleaning supplies even gloves. We were given a few welcome treats AND the heatpump was on when we arrived late at night which was so lovely! Very happy with our stay, comfortable and private. Many thanks.

The shower needs thorough cleaning on the bottom outside and up the top where the steam roof is.

Close to Taupō and private.

Did not realise poor wifi meant poor 3G reception or how dependent we are on internet.

Cottage was cute - clean inside

Outside was filthy dirty building covered in bugs and webs , had to scrub and clean outside furniture to use it. Only supplied with 1 towel, 1 facecloth and 1 roll of toilet paper for FIVE days !! Coffee was open, old and expired last year, literally no sugar , handy towels or any other essential items you expect when paying over NZ$250 per night !! The interior thou cute was cold , damp and wet with no way to dry your one towel in five days !! The no wi- fi a joke - just walk ten steps to letterbox and you get it - owner just to mean to supply a booster. TV a joke also it’s 2024 not 1984 ! Phoned batch care about lack of supplies and told ‘o well that’s what you’ve been supplied for your stay so that’s it’. Notes with rules all over the place making you feel controlled - not a relaxing retreat at all !

Location and well equipped property.

WiFi non-existent. Not enough loo rolls, clothes airer was broken. Parking was extremely tight and difficult to get into. Loud barking dog late at night. No air-con so had the windows open (as property suggested via several notes) BUT the downside to this was all the numerous amounts of bugs that kept coming in, including a COCKROACH in the bed! Utterly horrendous. Would not stay here again.
