Burnthwaite Cottage

Great location lots of local walks and good base.

All good..would have been good to have t towels and washing up.liquid in kitchen..

The cottage had everything we needed for a lovely holiday. It was clean, quiet and comfortable, and is in a great location. There is off street parking, a pub/ restaurant 50 yards away and small shop 100 yards away. It’s a short drive from Windermere and the main bus routes stop at the end of the road. There are country walks from the door and a farm shop/cafe across the road.

We liked everything except the very sensitive smoke alarm.

Excellent communications with the hosts, extremely clean (we were very happy about that, thank you very much!), very nice bed, bathroom, and living room area. Parking in the rear of the property. Close drive to the places we wanted to go to. The kitchen, fridge and freezer was also definitely adequate for us.

This is being very picky, but I expected there to be salt, pepper and cooking oil since there was a kitchen (it was easy enough to get them in nearby grocery stores). Also, the non-stick frying pan was quite scratched up so we avoided using it.

Can't recommend this place enough! Fantastic location for exploring the Lakes. Our little home from home. Our 3 days away couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you 😊

We have stayed at the cottage before and it was exactly the same. The location is good for all the main areas. Everything you need is provided. Highly recommend staying.
