Lovely place to stay a night, with a fabulous view

I found it a very comfortable, homely apartment with some quirky furniture and original features retained like the exposed roof beams. There was enough equipment and fittings in the small kitchen for my needs as a solo occupant. The host, Marian, did as others have said, going out of her way to help in an emergency with lost property and a very welcome lift to the centre and bus station for an early departure.

It was a bit of a climb up the fire escape to enter the flat and the location is quite far out of the centre, the last section up a steep hill. For those with no transport, there are bus stops nearby and taxis cost around 5£. It is in a quiet rural setting but the town can be noisy at night with students. A local pub and budget garage supermarket are not far away down the hill.

Good location and parking. Marian was proactive in communicating with us and very friendly. The beds were comfortable too.

The three flights of stairs up to the property may be an issue for less mobile people. It was a welcome exercise for us after a 6 hour drive though!
