Sergios Village House

I was met at the church by Sergio who greeted me with a smile then carried my cases for me to the house. It is a traditional Greek house with high ceilings and private garden, with a pomegranate tree, lemon, orange, apple and I think pear, with a grapevine pergola perfect for sitting under for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There was a table there with chairs and built in seating with rugs and cushions. My favourite spot was a hanging chair from a tree in the lower part or the garden. There was a balcony just off of the bedroom that is perfect for morning breakfast and yoga/ early evening. The house had everything I needed, was comfortable and I fell in love with it. Sergio's mum had lovingly picked flowers from the garden that were placed around. On the kitchen table we’re a fresh plate of the best half moon shaped little feta pies I have ever tasted. A fresh loaf, a full bowl of fruit, baked biscuits and then dinner of stuffed tomatoes, courgettes and vine leaves (with rice and herbs as I’m a veggie). This was all unexpected and I was overwhelmed by the kindness, care and thought behind it (Greek hospitality at is finest). Upon opening the fridge there was bottled water, milk, fruit juice, butter and jams, yoghurt and some salad. Sergio said to call if there was anything I needed but I didn’t have to as everything was just perfect for me. It was only a nice 10min walk into Gavalahori. Just across the road there were beautiful walks through the woods to other villages and a church in a cave. Sergio’s house was peaceful and quiet, just birdsong, cockerels and church bells. I didn’t have a car but it would have been a good base for exploring further. Not only would I be happy to recommend but I shall definitely be returning and look forward to it. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. If I had to think of something then maybe a new shower curtain.

The Villa is in a good loction in the heart of the Cretion countryside near the coast and located on the edge of a Village ideal for country walks. Good facilities in the Villa large garden to relax in. The Host is very friendly easy to communicate with left us with a hot meal on arival and also left us with a comprehensive food parcel so generous. I have been using Booking Com for years but this one of the best.

The house exceed all our expectations 😊. It is the best equipped house that we ever booked. The location is good in quite neibethood, very good start point from exploring Chania and Retimno regias. The house is big, well organised in traditional style. The jard is great, and there is a few places where you can relax. We had a really ward welcome and enjoyed every moment there 👍😊

Sergios house is situated in a perfect location near the beach, near Chania and also the mountains. A perfect spot to explore West Crete. The house was well equipped and had everything you would need. Sergios left some food and drinks for us, which was perfect as we arrived on Sunday and all the shops were closed. The garden was lovely and the perfect place to read a book in the mornings
