Fajazinha Cottage

Well equipped, great location, nice view

The location is practically next to amazing waterfalls. I liked the feeling of staying in country house (neighbours have cows and chickens:)).

A stronger heater for winter period would be good. We stayed in january and the weather was windy, chilly and humid,. Bathroom was chilly. Matrasse in bed needs a cover layer, we felt the bedsprings under ribs.

Everything was perfect. Good WiFi. Perfect location in a small village. Very good communication with the owner.

The location of this small cottage is just perfect. We found this west part of the island more charming & interesting than the east-part so it's a best buy from this point of view. The small house also is a reminder of how people used to build in these places, with thick walls in order to combat the moisture in the air. The view from the terrace is also 10/10. The sunsets are marvellous while you are accompanied by the loved ones and a good bottle of Portuguese wine. Overall, perfect location with perfect views and easy access by car to the most interesting spots on the island especially given the crazy weather when you have to "hunt" for the good views when clouds finally lift a bit. Since the place is just yours, it offers intimacy and the beauty of the sunsets that can be seen can't be spoiled by anyone.

This place [actually the entire island] fights with tons of moisture due to its position in the middle of the ocean. It seemed to us that the cottage had lost the battle with this humidity for the moment and we did not notice too much effort from the owners to try to fade the phenomenon. The moisture already conquered the thick walls, which is visible to the naked eye from their yellow-ish color and, although a dehumidifier runs 24/7 inside, it is too small, too noisy and too ineffective to make a difference. Inside there is a constant smell of mold and if you want to ventilate and leave the windows and doors open, all the effort to lower the degree of humidity was in vain, you simply return to 100% humidity inside. Because we understand the phenomenon and the fact that it is not easy to fight with humidity in general, we cannot say that we let this aspect steal us from the feeling created by the beauty of the place, which is really a special one from all points of view. We would have liked to see more effort and investment from the hosts, especially considering that the price is not low. There are modern technical solutions and some investments would be needed on this side. There is a pity that this place seems to degrade at a sustained rate due to the humidity. Also, the barbecue area seemed unused for a long time, the utensils were semi-rusty - again - some [small] investments are needed here as well. BUT, i've seen negative comments about moisture and mold for most of the accommodations in Flores. It is a general problem. If I were to choose again, I would still choose this one for the peace, views and location.

The cottage was located on the nicest spot of the fabulous Flores island. After booking the cottage, we got e mail from owner explaining us to pick up the keys at the airport (which went very well). The cottage was easy to find (by putting the name in google maps) and it was easy to park the rental car near the cottage. The bed was comfortable and warm and we got warm shower in the morning. The wifi worked perfect and i could even watch champions league match on television. We did not cook but all the kitchenware was available.

Very nice cottage in the picturesque village. Quiet, nice view. Very good equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We recommend this cottage very much.

The location was wonderful

The bathroom was on the other side of the house with four steps. Two and two different areas. So you needed a flashlight to go to the bathroom at night. They needed night lights plugged in to some of the outlets so you can see where you were going at night. Also, it was difficult to get around the one side of the bed. There's not enough room to easily get by the bed.

Location, view, spacious, quiet

Needs a kettle and a frying pan that is not all scratched. Thank you for providing essential stuff in the kitchen but a bit of olive oil and vinegar would have been welcome, and also some shower gel. One of the kitchen cupboards has a very unpleasant smell
