The Ferns Hideaway

They had so much space and felt enveloped with trees and birds etc We desperately needed an electric toothbrush charger and Mel had one! Lifesaver 👍 My bathroom has a bath which was just wonderful and you just looked out onto the greenery, very nice indeed

Sofas probably need replacing, bit too squishy for us and tv in a cupboard that only opens “so far” not an issue for us but might be for a big family to watch together

Location. Close to downtown. Whole house. Host responsive with questions before our trip.

House hot when we arrived. Kitchen window without screen had been left open. No window covering on a high Master Bedroom window and a guest bathroom window with shower. Coded lock on outside door, but no way to lock door on inside (i.e., deadbolt). Inside house appeared clean. Porches & steps need a good sweeping.

Landscaping, great location , roomy and fun

Fantastic location. Easy walking distance to town and restaurants. Quiet location with green views from every room. Great communication from the host about keys and when we could access the property. House was very well equipped with cooking equipment, utensils, crockery etc and had salt, pepper and olive oil. Air conditioner in living area worked well on both heat and cool settings. Lounge area was lovely to relax in, especially on one day where it was raining heavily. Aside from some smaller issues, we really enjoyed our stay here.

Sheets and matress protectors are not cotton, so makes for a hot sleep. No fly screens on windows. Lots of bitey bugs around and we had to keep windows closed to avoid being bitten. Needs more hooks in bathroom for hanging bathroom bags. Towel rail too far from the shower to reach over. Musty smell from the garage.

Very well appointed, table and chairs that allowed us to enjoy the beautiful deck, cozy fireplace, very clean and had everything we needed for a very confortable stay with friends. Well done!

The Ferns Hideaway is a hidden gem. Secluded but right there in town. It had the best facilities we have ever seen in such homestays - the kitchen has everything literally. Clean and so very comfortable. I would recommend this property to all friends & family without hesitation. Wish our stay was longer. The owner Mel is extremely responsive and gave excellent suggestions for sightseeing & food.
