"I never even made it to the property, it was cancelled on me and very little information was given."

1.0

I really enjoyed driving 5 hours only to arrive and be called after reaching out to check on the property's availability (emailed instructions tell you to check to make sure the pin lock code hasn't changed prior to arrival). When I called to check the pin lock code, I was received by the owner of the property, who apparently wasn't expecting me at all and said the property was currently occupied. I then spoke with the property manager who assured me it would be available and that the current occupants were on schedule to leave by 11am. When I arrived, I found that the entire town had lost power and that it had occurred a day or so prior to my arrival. This would have been good information to have, prior to driving 5 hours. While settling into the town, which is very pretty, I was called by the property manager who let me know the property wasn't available. They were very vague initally, and when I pressed they explained it wasn't accessible currently. To their defense, this was immediately following historic levels of rain for the area, along with high winds and flooding. The property manage gave a vague suggestion about the road leading to the property being inaccessible, but didn't provide more information. When I asked how the people that had been there previously were able to leave, and that they had verified they had indeed left, I was left with more questions than answers. The property manager did at least inform me I would be credited fully, which I am currently waiting on.

I didn't like having to scramble to find some place to stay moments after being told I couldn't stay at the property I'd paid for. I also didn't like the lack of communication about the condition of the town; despite the power having been out for a couple days I wasn't reached out to and warned of this at all. I was able to find accomdations at https://www.abendblume.com/ and the site was lovely. While also suffering from having their power knocked out by the weather, the hosts at Abendblume were able to provide a very generous breakfast they had the consideration to have cooked, chopped wood for the downstairs hearth, bottled water and desserts. They also offered a free night that I sadly had to decline due to work obligations.

"Great spot in the wilderness to unwind and relax."

10.0

The location is amazing. We went in winter and there's lots of activities around to go out. Book with time. The house is very spacious and was very clean. You can tell the owners are very organized. Larger than it seems in the pictures. The view is great and we were able to unwind. Loved it.

There are ongoing repairs to the second floor railing which seem risky for small children. Other than that the house has very few negative points.
