Being so close to town parking was more challenging however we always found a space nearby

"Excellent location and a cosy little cottage."

9.0

Machynlleth town centre is only a short walk from the cottage, yet it's very quiet. The cottage is clean, fully equipped, with comfortable sofas and lots of local guide books have been provided. The train station is a 5 minute walk - perfect for visiting the neighbouring coastal towns without the hassle of driving. Highly recommended place!

Everything was great - even the weather was perfect for our stay!

"Absolutely terrible"

1.0

nothing

We spent 4 nights in this place. - Everything is very small and claustrophobic. - Ceilings in the living room and bedrooms are very low. - The entrance door was very low. If you are 180cm or higher you would need to duck. (I have hit my head twice) - Bathroom is a joke. --The sink was so small you cannot even wash your hands without making a mess. If you want to brush your teeth or wash your face you will have to use the kitchen sink. And please do not tell me this is ok. -- The shower was so small and claustrophobic that even I, who doesn't have claustrophobia, was very uncomfortable there. You cannot even properly turn around there. - All beds are just terrible. -- The bed in the main bedroom was small and all wobbly. The mattress kind of sinks on the sides, so me and my wife couldn't sleep properly being afraid to roll off the bed. -- It was so bad so tried to sleep in the second bedroom on the bunkbed. It was even worse. The bed was wobbly and squeaky. The mattrass was very hard and I felt springs with my back and ribs. But the worst was cleanliness, smell and black mould... The whole place is in cobwebs and spiders. It was literarily everywhere - rooms, kitchen, walls, beams on ceilings, bathroom. My wife has arachnophobia, she couldn't even take a shower due to a fear of being locked in a tiny space with spiders. If you dare to stay there, look behind the main bed headrest. The smell is terrible. The place smells like dumb. This is the smell of a place which was exposed to high moisture levels and mould for a long time. The smell is first that you encounter when you first open the door. And it stays with you all over the place. The worst are carpets and sofas. Last but not least. Black mould. On windows, in the bathroom and shower specifically. It was, literarily the worst experience I had with booking.com in 12 years. This kind of places has no right to be listed here...

"We really liked the house & will definitely rebook if we return to the area."

9.0

The location was perfect for us: 5 minutes walk from the El Sueno Existe festival. We cooked a meal a couple of nights and the kitchen was well stocked (though the knives could have been sharper!) - we ate outside one evening in the lovely small terrace. The owner is very helpful, accommodating an extra guest at the last minute, and sending on some forgotten items. Beds very comfortable too.

The internet didn't connect immediately, but the owner reassured us that it does work and we got there eventually. The loo being downstairs to the bedroom was a bit awkward for those who get up a lot at night.

"An easy, comfortable place to stay."

8.0

Clean, comfortable and a good position to visit family. A well equipped kitchen.

Having the bathroom downstairs is a disadvantage, but of course we knew that beforehand.

"We found Bwythyn Gweilich very comfortable, well maintained and within easy reach of local resources"

9.0

Good info about this and flexibility re arrival time. Regarding other aspects of the cottage we appreciated that resources were all eco-friendly and the care taken of the property.

Nothing!
