Casa Tholari Al Mare

The location was excellent. Overlooking the Port. Less than five minute walk to the Town Beach. Great for an early morning swim. A handful of restaurants, a couple of shops, a bakery and a few bars close by. An uphill walk to the main Chora/town with fabulous views. A great app. called Astybus was very useful and efficient for getting around. Some lovely beaches on the island. Stenos was sandy with a few sun beds and a couple of tavernas. Livadi was also good with plenty of sun beds, lots of good tavernas for lunch. Casa Tholari Al Mare was superbly appointed. Very spacious for two people. Dressing Gown and Slippers provided. The hospitality received from the owners was exceptional. They could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A very lovely couple 🥰

Very clean, spacious and excellent location!

The apartment is in a perfect location , a short walk from the port, next to shops and restaurants and within walking distance to the Chora and castle. There is a large outside terrace, which was wonderful to sit out on in the evening. The whole apartment was designed and laid out with consideration to the comfort of the guests. The apartment is one of the oldest buildings in the port and has been family owned for many years having previously been a sponge drying store and later a cafe. You can still see the hooks used for drying the sponges on the beautiful high arched ceiling.The apartment had a great shower, comfortable bed , plenty of seating and a very useful washing machine. We loved returning to it everyday after a fantastic day on the wonderful island of Astypalaia. Konstantinos met us at the property and showed us round, he was very helpful and considerate. He was very warm and welcoming we genuinely felt he wanted to ensure in every way we enjoyed our time in the apartment.He was also able to help us with information during our stay. We would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone wanting a perfect base to explore the lovely island of Astypalaia

This is a lovely historic building which has been newly renovated with wonderful taste. It was so clean, and the towels/linen were gorgeous. The owner met us on arrival, and he was really kind and was easy to communicate with. Once we were settled in, he invited us to have coffee with him and his wife. He checked in on us occasionally to make sure we were enjoying our stay, but he was never intrusive. The kitchen was well equipped, and we were left a lovely bottle of wine. We mostly went up to Chora to dine, but this was easy as we had a scooter. We would highly recommend.

As I got off the ferry and approached the place where I was going to stay, I saw the landlord waiting for me in front of the door. First, he showed me the house and told me about its features. Then I received a hospitality I haven't seen in recent years. When I entered the room, fresh cookies and wine greeted me. Then he told me that I was hungry because I had traveled a long way and so he invited me to his house for lunch. He and his wife prepared very delicious food and we ate it together. On the other days, they did not lack any interest and attention. I have never seen anything like this before. Regarding my room; a very old building designed in such a beautiful way. Towels and sheets were all first class. It was extremely clean. It is in the heart of the harbor and very close to the beach and restaurants. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to meet all your needs. I would recommend it to those who are thinking of making a reservation without hesitation.

The property is a great historic building, perfectly renovated with stylish modern furniture - and it is in the very best location near the port on the little promenade. Despite this location, the apartment is very quiet and even bright. All facilities (shower, washing machine etc. ) state-of-art.
