Ponte House

We had a really great time here. I truly recommend this house from the bottom of my heart. It’s huge, well-equipped, modern, and in a great location. Free parking is also a big plus! We made breakfast and dinner in the house, which helped us save a lot of money. It was also fun to try different groceries that aren’t available back home. The owners kindly left us some groceries and local delicacies, which we really appreciated. I honestly wish I could live in this house for the rest of my life. The ocean view is just breathtaking.

Not good isolation for humidity and you should be careful to not leave food outside because of ants

We loved the views we got from every room in the house and also taking shower with a view of the Atlantic ocean is unforgettable. The kitchen was well equipped and the AC served well for heating up during the winter months. Parking is available just around the corner. The hosts prepared fruit upon our arrival, also some special fruit that looked like berries which we never saw before but it was delicious. Walking distance to the pools in Porto Moniz, also short drive to Fanal forest and levadas. Listening to the waves crashing on the rocks at night was a great way to fall asleep. Also having a washing machine and electric dryed was amazing as there was not much direct sunshine during the days in February to dry clothes outdoor. They also allowed us to have a later check out. Tv was a bit outdated. It would have been great if the tv had Youtube or Netflix but that was just a minor thing and if you stay only for a few night you won't even notice it. 😉

Ponte House was way above our expectations. This clean, spacious, light filled house has fantastic views down to the sea front. It is well equipped and comfortable. Our welcome pack of fresh fruit, cake, biscuits and wine was perfect. It’s a short walk into town and the seafront and a slightly longer walk back up the steep hill! There’s free parking just a minutes walk from the house. We would thoroughly recommend Ponte House to anyone who doesn’t mind walking up and down steep hills.

On arrival, we made the mistake of driving up the very, very steep, narrow road which the house is on. Once we realised that we could park in the spaces on the main road this wasn’t a problem.
