Scalby Grove Cottage

The location was perfect - only 5 minutes walk from my father’s house. The house was clean, bright and comfortable. With plenty of room for me, my husband and our 3 girls (all in their 20s). Plenty of hot water for showers (we didn’t use the bath), the beds were extremely comfortable and Debbie made sure we had everything we needed and popped round to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I would highly recommend this property.

We liked everything.

An excellent cottage with a high quality ‘finish’. Furniture, fixtures/fittings and all crockery/equipment etc were of a high standard. The beds were very comfortable and the quality of the duvets, pillows and bed linen was excellent. The location was perfect for attending a wedding in Hackness and for visiting Scarborough. Parking was available on the roadside in front of the cottage.

The cottage was very pretty

The curtains didn’t close properly in most rooms and especially on the bedrooms let in a lot of light. The dining table light wasn’t working in the kitchen.

The property was built in the 1800s with thick stone walls. very quiet. the facilities were excellent. The location great with two quality pubs and two cafes within walking distance. Easy drive into Scarborough. Good walking, great for the Cleveland Way

The cottage is lovely and furnished to a good standard. The host met us on arrival and left a gift of wine, bread, butter etc. which was a really nice touch. Unfortunately it was raining so we didn’t get to use the little seating area at the rear which would be ideal on a warm evening.

The road outside is quite busy, though it does quieten down at night. There was only the two of us staying and it was quiet inside the house, so I think we noticed it more.
