Masons Cottage, an Idyllic retreat in an area of outstanding beauty, close to Blenheim Palace, Oxford & The Cotswolds

Property was open and keys on the kitchen table Host sent an very detailed email with all information i.e local area walks, pubs, shops, attractions. Loved the fact this cottage was sustainable and recycling/environment is important. Location was stunning - perfect time of years with the leaves turning wonderful colours. The bed and linen was excellent - best nights sleep (away from our own bed!) Highly recommend

Inter connecting door with main house This door was locked but if I was staying by myself I would not have felt safe (and wouldn't have stayed) it would be useful for guests to have a bolt on the door so we know nobody can access the cottage from the main house

Well decorated with comfortable facilities and an outstanding location in a small village. It's a delight to feel welcomed with starter groceries of eggs and milk...and fresh linen. The instructions were detailed and easy to let ourselves in..and we loved the private door on the side of the cottage to go walking through.

Loved everything...but perhaps the lighting to the bathroom and the shower needs to be separated.

Perfect location, peaceful and quiet just what was needed. Lovely eggs and milk provided! Fantastic cottage and location for getting out and about but lovely garden to sit in if you want to chill out.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Excellent facilities combined with a really homely feel in a gorgeous location. Excellent information provided to help us make the most of our stay. Highly recommended.

A good location to access the Oxfordshire side of the Cotswolds. Also, it is a good location to visit Blenheim Palace. Facilities were excellent. Every little detail was taken into consideration. For example, local maps and a torch for venturing out in the evening. When Masons cottage sent us checking in details, they included every small detail from checking in and places to see, eat, and drink. Friendly working dogs, who were adorable. Local community pub who had a band on whilst we were staying. We visited Woodstock, Castleton House, Burford, and Stonesfield. Would definitely recommend highly booking.

It was a welcome week's retreat for weary travellers who needed to catch up with old friends in the Cotswolds. Your garden is just perfect. Wild flowers, beds of roses, the Burford Brown hens poking around, your beautiful spaniels. The walk through the village on to the Roman Villa at North Leigh was a trip down Memory Lane when we used to take our little girls there. One of them now teaches the history of ancient civilisations! The whole area is stunning. The Duke of Marlborough Hotel, where our daughter stayed, is close to Blenheim and Woodstock, excellent food and service.
