Lusthuset

Lovely little apartment. Spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. The décor is perfect, and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. We especially appreciated the homemade bread from the kind and welcoming host couple. The kitchen and fridge were thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. The location is also great — just a short walk from the station and surrounded by great restaurants. Highly recommended!

Quirky, private and fantastic breakfast with the bread a highlight.

A wonderful stay in a charming old house. It has it's atmosphere, related to rock festivals. The house is though renovated to an exceptionally modern level, so you can find everything you might need. You feel the real care of the hosts, both of the place itself and the guests. Highly recommend!

Great House in the center of the town , Great Host

Lusthuset is a lovely little cottage in a quiet back yard that is shared with the owners' main house. The location is perfect, in the middle of the small medieval centre of Sölvesborg and literally a few steps away from the magnificent Nikolaikyrkan. The house is not large, but very functional. It has everything you'll need, and more! The kitchen is fully-equipped, with modern and top-quality items, not the second-grade quality often found in summer houses. Free use of the available staples, coffee, sugar, salt, cereals, tea, etc. Even corn for popping and a small bowl of candy ("godis")! The bathroom is small but modern and spotless, with floor heating and washing machine. The breakfast was "self-assembly" from tasty and fresh ingredients, including home-baked bread. The beds are comfy, and the space under the roof, although a bit tight, is very cosy for sleeping, and great for kids. There are games, reading and entertainment available should the weather be bad. Cathrine was a lovely host, pro-active and precise in the pre-arrival communication, very flexible. After our departure she even biked down to the railway station to catch us because we had forgotten a small item! I happen to know this part of Sweden very well - rest assured, this is an excellent and no-nonsense choice, with which you can't go wrong.

The stairs to the loft are steep and more like a ladder. I assume that's a challenge for persons who are less fit or with reduced mobility. We ran out of warm water for ten minutes or so while showering - probably the boiler couldn't keep up. Not an issue if you know about it and plan accordingly.
