Rangers Reserve

It was a real experience to stay at Rangers Reserve, & a positive one! We booked a night so that we could leave early in the morning to get to Aquila to go on a game drive.. All worked perfectly. Hilarie was a friendly & informative host, the accommodation was charming & well equipped, with great views.. A good night's sleep set us up for a great experience the next day. Staying at Rangers Reserve was a memorable part of my first trip to South Africa.

This is a self catering stone house in the middle of a reserve... you can expect to receive exactly this! I would recommend this unique solid, stone house with rustic features and absolute silence from everything normal.. to a writer of a book. If you want to disappear from everything in life... come here! Zero traffic, Zero noise. The hosts are lovely people and very helpful.

My bed at home has a softer mattress... it's my own personal problem. My car was not able to travel up to the stone house but the owners transported us in their 4 x 4 so no problem!

It was exactly what we were looking for, something budget friendly, but comfortable and remote. The kitchen was well equipped and we had lovely towels.

The quiet place

It was in a scenic setting, very remote and peaceful. The hosts were friendly and kindly transported us from their gate as the road was not suitable for a sedan.

It felt rather unfinished and in need of some extra care. There were no rugs at all on the concrete floor. There was a single match in a matchbox to light the gas hob and oven!

Amazing location. Wonderful early morning walks and breathtaking views.
