The Bothy of Ballachulish House

The house itself is very charming, looks cute. The location is also amazing Glencoe is just around the corner, and the gardens surounding it are beautiful. The living room is comfotable with big table and comfy couch also the have multiple streaming providers to keep yourself busy during the evening.

The minuses of this accomodation are beds, very small for two people and very worn out. So for two couples nobody got a good night sleep. We loved the accomodation during the day but after spending the night we were happy we were only staying ine night. If they would upgrade the beds this would be a 10.

We loved everything about The Bothy and 100% would come back. It was cosy and very well laid out for the size. It was well equipped and gave us everything we needed. The location was perfect for reaching everywhere we wanted to visit and there were plenty of paths to walk the dog and of course we visited the local bars either side of the bridge and on the Woodlands estate. Loved being able to sit outside in the morning and have our coffee too.

Amazingly well-stocked kitchen for its size, including dishwasher, washing machine and even a dryer. Nice location.

Beds were uncomfortable and too short for the tall men in our party. Only one sofa in the seating area.

Memory foam mattress was very worn. Washing machine out of order and dishwasher door wouldn’t close and had no power to it. Owner offered to put a wash through but too late by then.

This stay on our trip was above expectations as far as the home. We had everything we needed and having the home all to ourselves was a nice opportunity to spread out, traveling with 4. Especially having two bathrooms! The beds were comfy, they had a lovely welcome book with excellent local recommendations, and the towels were plush and clean! The hosts were prompt in all their responses and we never had an issue reaching them. Unfortunately the washer was out ( we traveled over Easter holiday so the host didn't have a choice in waiting on a plumber, totally understandable) and we reached out and got a response in less than 5 minutes... And she offered to pick our clothes up and personally wash them. Talk about above and beyond! We knew we had a wash at our next stay, so it wasn't necessary, but the gesture was kind and that extra warm touch you don't get when staying at a commercial hotel. This home is charming and the landscaping is stunning. We were close to everything in Glencoe and the stay was well above our expectations. A must if you're traveling through Glencoe.

A very charming property in the Highlands, a house to ourselves with help just round the corner.

Not used to staying at a property without a gate… but it is definitely a safe place.
