Far off busy places means also far off the sights -> long distances Picture of the balcony in the description suggests it was part of the room, which it didn't seem to be (at least for the lower one)

The room is large with kitchen and bathroom, and a large living room. Also, the host is so kind and helped me a lot. The view of the room is perfect, sun and flowers. The living experience is wonderful here.

The location is a little far from the Kona downtown. So if you have a car, it is perfect.

Easy access from main road, privacy, safe area, quiet and peaceful.

There's a fantastic view of the ocean and sunset. The neighborhood is quiet. Our hostess was wonderful! If you're looking for a peaceful place to stay, this is it. Very clean. There is snorkeling gear, beach chairs, and towels for use.

ideally situated for adventures south of Kona, the garden studio tucked in a residential cul-de-sac offers a peaceful setting & unmatched views for sunset. Maybe best sunset of our lives! However........ Like most guests, my friend and I stayed a few nights to get an early start at two step, Ho'okena etc. (we're 50 yr olds btw). After arrival we were informed of 'quiet hours' from 10pm to 8am. That's 10 hrs but ok, we thought, bc we'd be going to bed early & out early. We were chided in the am for playing music (not loudly) while we had our coffee & got ready to leave for the day bc it was before 8am & interfered with host's meditation schedule. We were asked not to play music the next am & agreed, as we were on our way out. Later that evening after a great day we sat in the garden watching home movies & giggling while remaining aware of our volume & the time as it got closer to 10pm. At 10:01pm- and i'm serious- at 10:01 pm as we're gathering to go inside to bed the host Kabira comes down the stairs with a flashlight to scold us again, bc her roommate has to work tomorrow & neighbors etc. Next morning, we got up & prepared to leave making sure to play no music. Once home I re-checked the listing to make sure I didn't miss this crucial bit of information. Nope. NOWHERE does it state quiet hours or the fact that the host is sleeping in the room above you. The listing actually states soundproof rooms! yet we were asked not to run the ceiling fan at night as it vibrates her floor, bc thats how NOT soundproof the room is. To be clear, all of this might be fine for the right guest, just state it clearly in the listing. *no music or talking outside from 10p-8a* As someone who has airbnb'd as a host- i can tell you it is on the host to be EXPLICITLY clear in the expectations. If you require militantly adhered to quiet hours- that needs to be unmistakably clear.

the counter top appliances in the kitchenette could be updated with $ from one nights stay. Especially the electric two-burner for cooking. its rusted, wobbly & without readable knobs making cooking anything a real challenge. we gave up & ate microwaved popcorn instead.

The owner is very friendly, helpful and kind.

No stove or oven, no freezer, see-through curtains in the bathroom, no railing on the stairs, and the driveway to access the rental was very steep to walk up, and dangerous.
