Remuera, North Tolsta

This is a beautiful house and a fantastic find. The house is lovely - very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Anne Marie, our host, was amazing. We were greeted as soon as we arrived (despite the late hour due to the ferry crossing) with a well-stocked hamper, delicious freshly-made scones and a cosy log fire. She dedicated her valuable time ensuring we had absolutely everything we needed, informing us of local places of interest to visit and giving us an insight into island life. The house is in a great location, handy for exploring the beaches, villages and is close enough to Stornaway. The website photos do not do this house justice. The space is ideal, with very modern bathrooms and immaculately clean rooms. There are beautiful touches, including Harris Tweed items, around the house. We cannot recommend this property enough and hope we can visit again soon!

Location was fantastic, house has lots of room and all of the amenities one could need. Anne Marie was the best host we have ever had. So many personal touches - we felt so well cared for and could not have asked for a better experience.

Property was very clean and ideally situated for exploring the beautiful beaches and scenery of Lewis.

Everything was soooo good. It was as good as the best home you could have on Lewis. Nothing was missing to make this house exceptional.

Location was great. The beaches right in North Tolsta are beautiful and unspoilt and we thought just as good as the famous Harris beaches. Good for walking, cycling and exploring. We were lucky with the weather but there are lots of museums and a good swimming pool and sauna in Stornaway if it had been wet. Anne Marie, the house owner, is an exceptional person and will tell you anything you want to know about the history of the area, the people and of Harris tweed. She herself is a weaver with a loomshed in her garden - how good is that! The house has everything you need and was spotlessly clean with a lovely welcome basket of goodies. Everything is shut on a Sunday - just to point out for people not used to the Western Isles culture which actually keeps it special. Natural garden to sit in with lots of birdsong. Wild flowers and birds to discover everywhere.
