Casa Caridad del Cobre

Teresa was a wonderful host! She was quick to respond to any request and warm and friendly. Our house was more than expected, TWO & 1/2 bathrooms, instead of 1!!! A bonus for 3 people ! The only things we would recommend is a toaster, blender and a fan on the outside patio.

The only problem was some barking dogs at night and early morning. However we realized this was out of Teresa's control and found it everywhere in Mexico....

It was secure

Falsely stated amenities. No oven, washer, streaming service. poor wifi and terrible tv reception.

The size. 2 separate bedrooms. Location.

One towel for the week.

Amazing price for 8 nights! Neighbors and host were very friendly, and accommodating. Air conditioning worked well in the two bedrooms. Downstairs does not have air conditioning, but it stayed pretty comfortable during our February stay. Fridge was ice cold, and the house included bottled water and a coffee maker. We appreciated that very much. There was a nice full bathroom in each of the bedrooms, shower worked great! We enjoyed the large patio area, great place for morning coffee and evening drinks.

No comfortable furniture in the living room or out in the patio. Hanging out that house was sometimes not comfortable for this reason. Bedroom with 2 beds had soft bed, the other bedroom however was very hard. Dogs barked constantly day and night. Because of the neighbors dogs, we probably would not stay there again, as we were woke up many times during the night.

The house itself is great. 2 big bedrooms that each have their own bathroom. The host are very accommodating to the point that they even provide you with a 5 gal water dispenser so you don't have to go and buy petroleum water bottles. Get this, the place actually has water pressure and....you won't believe this, they have HOT water. and by hot, you have to turn the hot water down when taking a shower. Never thought I'd do that on the island.

Again, let me reiterate, the hosts and the house is great. The Cons really are not anything they can control but, you really need to know what you are going to deal with during your stay. The location requires you to have transport to do anything. There really isn't anything within a reasonable walking distance, other than one awesome breakfast place I found but that's still a walk. The problems really come from the noise at the location. There appears to be a ritual of everyone honking their horn as they pull into the neighborhood. But that's nothing compared to the rest. You better like farmers hours because, less than a block away is someone who's roof is covered with roosters. But, that still wouldn't even show up on a pie chart compared to the dogs in the neighborhood. before I go any further, I LOVE dogs! I love dogs more than people. That being said, they are all street dogs and they never go inside. And they NEVER, EVER, EVER stop barking. They bark all day and YES, they bark AAAAAALLLLL night! Oh, and one of the dogs doesn't really bark. It's more like a squeal or perhaps a dogs scream. I called that dog "MFJ" (Michael, Freddy, Jason), all the scariest characters from my childhood. If you put the sound that dog made into a horror movie it would be rated NC-17 just from the blood curling sound. I had the ceiling fan on high (and it had a nice tone to it). I had my phone on a white noice app and had sound isolating ear buds in and I even tried sleeping with the TV on for a distracting sound. I maybe got 3 hours of extremely interrupted sleep each night. I woke up with a headache almost every morning from the frustration of every once in a while they give you a half hour of quiet and then one dog barks and the choir resumes. If you're someone with significant hearing damage or your one who can sleep through anything, this is your place. As I stated above, the house is great.

We have stayed at all three places that casa caridad del cobre offers and have loved them all. Comfy beds and a great kitchen. There are a few taco places not too far from this location and it's easy to catch a taxi to the beach. The hosts are also wonderful and respond very quickly.

Arturo is the best host you can hope for. he helped us with litterally everything from renting a golfcart to booking trips. Everything was perfect about the place and I have already recommended it to several friends.
