Ivybank Cottage

A lovely location away from the more popular Loch Lomond and therefore quieter. A ten minute walk from the pub which was a nice stopping point after local walks. The cottage had a lovely sunroom which looked out on Loc Goil and became our retreat at the end of the day. We did indulge in using the fire for two of the nights which was very effective. The main bedroom had an ensuite bathroom with a great shower or bath if preferred. Several walks could be had from the cottage so the car was not used for three days which was great.

A fiddly heating system

The property is not bad but a little tired and in need of some renovations and good quality decoration. It was tidy and clean, ok for a weekend. Damp is in the ceiling of the en-suite bedroom. There was a dreadful scent I couldn’t find the source of. Smelt cheap, fake, floral similar to the rodent deodorant that used in masking dead or dying rodents, and for me is dreadful, possibly to hide the smell of damp. The Internet was intermittent. There was no box available to check and see if it needed a reset it was out all.

The location of the cottage was perfect with excellent views across the loch. The cottage was ideal for us. It is a traditional cottage which was spotlessly clean and was very well equipped. It was ideal for us that the cottage and garden were dog friendly. It was a very peaceful and tranquil location with great walks. We were lucky enough to enjoy a couple of days sitting in the garden enjoying the views and the only sound being chirping birds. Perfect!

The heaters in the bedrooms could do with a lick of paint.

Great communication from the off, prompt comprehensive and very clear, we had a good idea of exactly what to expect in practical terms. Spotlessly clean. All the expected facilities were present and functional. Super location with great views ably assisted by some amazing weather

Nothing much! There is only parking for 1 car as described. Not a problem as we only had 1 car. There's nowhere else nearby to leave a 2nd vehicle without blocking the narrow private road the property is on.

Le logement est facile d'accès et se trouve à une petite dizaine de minutes à pied du village. Très cosy, on s'y sent rapidement chez soi avec un petit jardin pour prendre l'air. La vue est géniale depuis la sun room. Le logement dispose de tous les équipements nécessaires pour passer un bon séjour. Je recommande cette maison de vacances.

Great location with an exceptional view of Loch Goil, especially from the sun room porch. Well appointed and spacious for a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom cottage.

We couldn't get the big TV in Lounge to work but the owner John was very quick to respond and helpfully got someone to look at it ASAP.
