Marlothii Safari House

The house was clean inside as long as you didn't look deeper. We enjoyed the braai area and the animals roaming around the house.

When you rent the house , be aware that the third bedroom is part of the loft , it is open with no privacy. As the place is advertised as a 3 bathroom house I have serious doubts about that, a stand alone toilet in the loft is not a second bathroom and a outside shower on the balcony with a plastic curtain is not a third bathroom. The whole house is not in a good condition and needs serious maintenance. The Duvet covers on the beds with no Duvet inners were definitely a first for us. Luckily there was a blanket in the cupboard , but at 4 in the morning in winter, it doesn't help for the cold. The kitchen is packed with old to very old items , you don't want to use the pots and pans with years of grease that will never come off. The glasses were liquorice all sorts and the coffee cups chipped Will I recommend the place to anyone , a definitely NO.

The house, while charming in its own right, yearns for a transformation that could breathe new life into its weary walls. Alas, our journey was marred by the disarray of the upstairs toilet, which stood defiantly out of order, a silent sentinel to our discomfort. The night cloaked us in restless slumber, as the mattresses, tired and worn, betrayed our hope for rejuvenation. As we ventured into the kitchen, the appliances bore witness to neglect a once-proud air fryer, its handle adorned with ancient oil, whispered tales of forgotten meals. The stove, a greasy relic of past culinary endeavors, stood as a reminder of hasty clean-ups. The cups, cracked and stained, seemed to reflect the tarnished hospitality we encountered. Our first task was to confront the remnants of previous tenants pans cluttered with years of stubborn grease, remnants of a hasty departure, with bits of egg clinging desperately to the bottom. It was a grim initiation to our escape. When we embark on a vacation, we long for the embrace of comfort, the luxury of awakening rejuvenated, filled with the promise of a new day. Yet, plagued by the inadequacy of the mattresses, we found ourselves adrift in a sea of discontent. My disappointment festers, one cannot help but wonder what the host thinks of their guests. The money exchanged for this experience should herald respect and acknowledgement, yet the service we received fell tragically short of our expectations, leaving a bitter aftertaste in what should have been a delightful retreat.

Facilities and location to crocodile bridge Various bushbuck and kudu came right to the house. The pool was nice and had good braai facilities
