Marloth Park Hippo House

Very spacious Nice view Friendly and helpful staff

The water on the first floor were cold some nights when we wanted to bath. The internet speed is slow.

The location is excellent. This property was exactly as it had been advertised. The kitchen is very well-equipped. The beds are very comfortable and the linen provided was lovely. The assistant on site, Sizwe, was very friendly and really helpful. We particularly enjoyed the top floor deck with the views across the river. The walks along the river are great and the visiting animals special.

We initially struggled to find the house as the house number and name are located in Eland Road and not in Seekoei -and it was dusk when we arrived. The second turn-off from the N4 is also not clearly signposted for Marloth Park when coming from Nelspruit. We did find the property is need of some tender loving care. The interior needs attention as it all looks very tired. Navigating the roads to and from the property were challenging. ,

The location was great, with animals roaming around the park and passing the house - buck, giraffe, zebra, warthog. The house was big and comfortable with lovely outside space. This was a self-catering house, and there is a good Spar centre conveniently nearby. We could buy wood provided by the caretaker, who was really helpful and friendly.

There had been a lot of rain and the roads in the park were really bad. It really required a 4x4 to navigate most of them.

A very lovely and pleasant experience, we really enjoyed this house.

Air conditioning on the upper floor would be a great addition.
