"Disappointing experience with Umvangazi. While the property was comfortable, our stay was marred by unexpected charges."

The room spacing and dishwasher

Disappointing experience with Umvangazi. While the property was comfortable, our stay was marred by unexpected charges. We were surprised to be told that our security deposit would be deducted due to oil stains on linen sheets, despite taking care to leave the property in good condition. Furthermore, the security fee was not clearly disclosed in the initial booking process. We felt this was unfair and lacking in transparency. Guests should be aware of this potential additional cost. Communication with the host was professional, but the issue could have been avoided with clearer policies.

"Family Weekend"

8.0

Lovely location. The wild animals pass by in the mornings and evenings - warthogs, impala, koedoes, bush babies, etc. There are also monkeys and giraffes within the park. It was quite amazing to watch our toddler go crazy over them, but presented a great opportunity to teach respect for nature. Swimming pool really helped.

Secluded, close to nature, very clean and comfortable, it felt like home away from home.

There was nothing we did not like, the property exceeded our expectations.

"House in a poor state"

6.0

The location is amazing and the animals that visit are great. Big box freezer was nice. Kids loved to feed them pallets. Kudus, warthog, zebras. Marloth is always warm, even in winter, just not swimming.

The list of what is wrong is long. The ants in the entrance are a lot and thorns in the walking areas are a pain. You always have to wear shoes. Simple poison will sort out the thorns you step in the house constantly. The rest rooms is in a state! The main bedroom shower is full of black mould. Not hygienic at all. The guest restroom's toilet is broken, we had to flush it from inside the whole time. No effort to fix it. The bath is for a 1 small child. We have a 3y and 5y old, can't even bathe together. Never seen such a small bath. The shower leaked whole time. The beds were probably the most uncomfortable we slept in. Old and sinks in as you lay down. Aircon works in the main bedroom but not in the guest bedroom. The top stair beds are better for the kids and my niece. BUT, my 3 year old got 3 ticks in the bed. This was very bad and terrifying for us. The kitchen is way too dark and not enough light and full of ants. Old bread was still under the sink. The refrigerator wasn't working well although a big freezer helped. This place never fixes the issues as i read in the guest book. A pity such a nice house is so neglected. Check In was also poor, not clear on exactly what to do. I got to the bush centre where the "lady" booking was extremely rude. Checkout just as rude, if we didn't put the alarm on the alarm Company is going to charge us. Asking for the toilet key for my wife was a big effort! No sense of service.
