Down South Cottage

. Had everything we needed for a very comfy stay.. it felt like home

Everything was perfectly appointed and cozy! The beauty of the garden and lots of windows made it such a lovely oasis inside and out - you would never have thought it was so conveniently located in town. Marie was the best hostess and very friendly and so helpful with local knowledge of the area as we were deciding on places to visit.

Lovely private accommodation in a beautiful garden setting. Handy location to the northern side of town. The cottage had all the amenities we required for a three night stay. Friendly hosts. The location of the cottage means there are no immediate or adjoining neighbours, so you can relax in more peace and privacy than a regular motel. The air conditioning unit was fantastic for heating and cooling.

As others have noted the cottage is situated near SH6, so some passing truck noise may disturb light sleepers early in the morning. This disturbance is dampened somewhat by the double-glazed windows, and future occupants could easily remedy further through use of ear plugs or white noise if so inclined. A minor observation but a little bit dusty in places and some cobwebs around the windowsills - the cottage could do with a wee top-to-bottom spring clean in the near future to keep it spic n span for future guests.

An amazing experience! The place is fully equipped, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, offering a cozy, home-like atmosphere. The highlight is the beautiful garden, which is peaceful and perfect for relaxing. The host is friendly and very supportive. Definitely will come back if I have the chance!
