I only write reviews if someone truly earns it! I’m writing this not only because the owner Joseph was a very kind and attentive Italian “teacher” who helped me reserve the best table in the best restaurant in town, but also because of his beautifully situated, rustic apartments in this magnificent town! If you are a fan of The Godfather trilogy and are traveling by car, this is the perfect place to spend a few days. This part of town is very peaceful, and a road leads from here through the historic center straight to the main sights. At the end of this road is the Cattedrale Maria Santissima Annunziata, which appears many times in the trilogy! We really enjoyed walking through the town and were overwhelmed by the kindness of the locals. The atmosphere of the apartment is even better in real life than in the pictures! We also loved the first-floor balcony. Definitely choose this place if you are planning a memorable Godfather journey!

Der Ort, bzw das Dorf sind super. Bei der Anreise hat und sehr authentisch. Guiseppe ist unfassbar liebevoll und sehr sympathisch. Er hat uns 3x Frühstück gebracht und Feigen aus seinem Garten. Die Unterkunft ist etwas dunkel. Es kommt nicht viel Licht ins Haus. Vor allem im unteren Bereich. Ausgestattet ist das Haus soweit gut.

Der Boden oben lässt sich nicht leise laufen. Die Treppe ist enorm steil und laut und es ist recht dunkel.

We felt like we had the authentic Sicilian experience! Host was most hospitable! It had everything you could need for a great stay!

It was not a negative for us but if you cannot climb stairs this might not be the best choice for you. However it does have 2 entrances upstairs and downstairs.

Words fall short in describing our experience staying at the La Roca apartment. Every detail has been carefully considered, striking a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. The unique sensation of being in a home where you can actually see the rock it’s built on is truly unforgettable. Our host, Giuseppe, was by far the kindest person we encountered during our entire trip around Sicily, always making us feel welcome and readily offering helpful advice and recommendations. On top of that, the apartment's location in the village where many scenes from The Godfather were filmed adds a special touch. There’s no doubt this is the perfect place to spend a few memorable days.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. It's a quiet location close to restaurants and coffee bar. The bed is comfortable and the lining very clean.

It's not clean enough to warrant the rating. There's a sewer smell in the kitchen area. The kitchen sink is not trapped, it's plumbed directly to the sewer hence the smell. The bathroom has a sewer smell also so I'm assuming the same issue there The shower and basin are both pooling and slow to drain. The coffee machine was dirty and the drain tray full. Sink is dirty and needs a good clean. It's a unique site but the lack of attention to detail, issues with plumbing and lack of thorough cleaning let it down. I've given it a 7 rating as you can find similar priced properties where the presentation is superior.

Delightful place with bags of character cut into the rockface, and Giuseppe was a most genial and helpful host. The fabulous upstairs patio is perfect for eating, drinking, or curling up with a book while offering stellar views of the surrounding mountains. The double bed has one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on.

You need to be fit and agile to negotiate the narrow, steep wooden ladder-staircase linking the downstairs kitchen/dining and bathroom to the bedroom-lounge area and patio (though there are stone steps outside that also lead up to the patio). For a long stay, it might get a little tiresome constantly clambering up and down. Also, an information sheet on recommendations for eating, places to visit, things to do or walks in the area would be welcome.

All beyond our expectations, amazing village and amazing house. Great stay, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable time away from the tourists. Giuseppe was a sublime host, nothing short of perfect. Will definitely come back again.
