"Peaceful Farmhouse stay"

10.0

The whole farmhouse vibe!!! Exactly what I was after. So peaceful, walks you can do, lots of sheep and general wildlife...birds, rabbits. Bathrooms good.. especially downstairs shower. Great to have 2 bathrooms. Loved underfloor heating in dining area...put clothes rack in there overnight and dried all the clothes...being able to wash was brilliant. Great fridge and freezer for longer stays. Enjoyed the cosy lounge too

Nothing really. Some people may not like rustic, but I had no qualms...brilliant atmosphere there. A feeling you could step back in time.

"Secluded, authentic, cosy character farmhouse perfect to relax and unwind"

8.0

The authenticity of the property was its main charm. Beautifully restored and original features kept, furnished tastefully and in keeping with the period. It felt like being on the set of poldark or wuthering heights.

The drive up to the farmhouse was a little tricky and may have been difficult in a smaller saloon type car, but was well worth it

"Imagine waking up to views of high mountain peaks and waterfall from your bedroom window - you can!"

10.0

We booked this property based on reviews and photos. Boy did it exceed our expectation - photos just don’t do it justice. in part, some of the building dates back to 1500AD so yes, it is a little rustic but very comfortable and reasonably well equipped. Any lack in modern creature comforts is made up by unforgettable scenery - you’ll be nestled between mountain ranges surrounding you with a waterfall at one end of the valley. The waterfall is about 2kms away accessible by an easily walked track. For those more adventurous souls, ‘Skiddaw’ (one of England's highest mountains) is also within walking distance as well. Imagine waking up in the morning and seeing all of this - we did and it was easily great value. Eleanor and James are great hosts as well and will make you feel at home.

A few more cooking utensils would be good otherwise perfect.

"A charming warm house in an exceptional location."

8.0

The house is charming. The location is exceptional. The under floor heating was especially good.

There were no instructions. We worked things out but instructions about things such as the rubbish, the kitchen equipment, the TV, shopping, and walks from the house or nearby, and local places to eat would have helped. Plumbing is almost always an issue in the UK, especially in old house such as this one.

Incredible location, incredibly spacious, perfect in every way. Note the listing is a bit outdated - there is good wifi available now if needed

Beds are a bit soft but that's entirely personal preference.

"Best place to stay in Cumbria!"

10.0

We loved our stay at The Dash Farmhouse - easily the best location we have stayed. We were very excited to learn that Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci had also been in the house! It is an amazing location, so secluded with such beautiful views all around. The underfloor heating was a bonus, the kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were large and comfy. The WiFi worked well for us and we enjoyed seeing the chickens and Tony the dog. The snowdrops were out in the garden when we were there which was lovely. There was plenty of walking to do with a nearby waterfall and hills all around. We visited the Sun Inn for a drink and the Lakes Distillery for tea and cake - about 10 mins drive away - recommend both. We will definitely be back to stay again in the coming years.

This by all means didn’t ruin our experience but on one of the days there were renovations going on in what looks like a cottage attached to the side of the property. We were just a bit gutted to have come to such a tranquil location and hear the sound of drilling on and off from 9:30am. It was only one day though and we just spent more time out walking and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Just wanted to give people a heads up in case this is ongoing in the near future as I think we were more disappointed as it came as a surprise. Fingers crossed it was just a one off!

"Beautiful and cosy winter stay"

9.0

A stunning location under Skiddaw. The house was very warm and comfortable despite freezing conditions outside. Fantastic walking from the door, with the open land to the back of the house giving great options off established paths. A memorable experience in a beautiful part of Cumbria.
