My wife had a bath in the evening and in the morning there was no hot water to shower. We all had a cold shower

The location was excellent and the house was comfy and very clean

I booked this accommodation due to it being rated 4 stars on Booking.com, and based on the positive reviews on, as well as the photos. This property is not 4 stars; very deceiving! So, my question to Booking.com; is the rating of properties on your site based on your own grading system or on international hospitality grading? I always thought it was the latter but after this experience, I am unsure now. I was so disappointed! I had only 1 night in Graaff Rienet and really wanted to stay in a nice place. The paint is peeling off the walls inside the house, the wooden floors need refurbishing/polishing as these are black in some places, the windows frames need refurbishing, the aircons in the bedrooms did not heat-up; one small TV. Advertise your property for what it is; don't sell it for something it is not. I would rate this property a max of 3 stars. The amenities provided were fine (no electric blankets though; we froze at night on the cold summer sheets). The house needs attention and upgrading before it can be rated as a 4-star establishment. I would have gladly paid more to have stayed at a property that met my expectations. I am weary now to utilise the star rating on Booking.com as this seems not to be a true reflection. On my departure, the host did not even enquire about my stay at their property!
