The Toll House

Absolutely immaculate and far exceeding expectations this property was delightful.

The Toll house is a quirky and delightful old building exuding quality throughout. The furnishings, kitchen equipment/utensils, bedding, and everything provided in the house were topnotch. We especially enjoyed the summer house at the bottom of the garden and, as we were fortunate to have really fine weather, we enjoyed relaxing in the summerhouse with a glass of wine/prosecco watching the fish jumping in the River Cree and the bird life flitting about on the water. The house is in an ideal location for exploring Galway forest and the nearby coastline. During our 4 night stay, we watched red squirrels feeding from the hide in Kirroughtree, fed red deer in the forest and enjoyed the delights of Wigtown and Portpatrick, amongst other things. There are some superb walks in the area and many other things to do that will merit a return visit at some point in the future.

Nothing of real significance. However, a minor point is that parking off-road on the property grounds is not easy as there is a gate to open and shut which takes time, and it leads onto a fairly busy road. This was not a problem for us though, as there was plenty of parking on the quiet road outside the property. We actually found the on-road parking to be more convenient.

The location was lovely just a short walk from the town centre and the view from the rear garden down to the river along with the bonus of the summer house...perfect.

Can honestly say there was not anything that springs to mind.

Everything, people often write everything, in this case, it's definitely true. Everything is catered for here, there is nothing the accommodation lacks. If you bought this place, as it is, you wouldn't have to buy anything.

Nothing, again, people often write nothing, and again, in this case it's true. I can't see how anyone who stays here can find anything wrong with the place.

Bit cold in kitchen

Comfy bed. Good location for walking to the pub. Good facilities on the kitchen. Cosy real fire.

Noise from traffic, but it wasn't too bad.
