Quiet, private, self-contained, clean, comfortable, warm and cosy. The layout was really unexpected and restful. The minimal decor was excellent - tasteful and neutral, with pictures on the wall that were calming and subtle. Felt deceptively spacious and with parking and a lovely courtyard garden. Any neighbours I bumped in to were really smiley and friendly, and no one was intrusive.

If you’re not familiar with the Jaywick area, the location could feel a bit less than perfect at first glance, as some of the homes a little run down. (BUT come back out of the road and turn right and you’ll walk to the expansive beach within about 5 mins. and turn left for Clacton for a beautiful walk by the sea and everything you need in town!) The owner was extremely prompt and helpful when I texted for clarification about something in the handbook - I got a very friendly return call that helped. (But just to mention, the inside door handle on the bedroom kept depositing its screws on the floor even after I’d screwed them back in, and the base of a couple of the bedroom drawers was also falling out. But all that is something someone could fix with a simple toolbox and 10 minutes :-) )

The location was perfect. The house was very close to the beach and the shops. We enjoyed the convenience. The property was peaceful and clean.

Stay was too short.

Lovely, comfortable house to enjoy time off. Ideal for stay with dogs. Beach just behind a corner. Lovely quiet place to relax. My dogs loved long walks there.

I didn't like the neighbours. My dogs were barking at cat, who passed garden and I have been told off by neighbours before 10pm. The neighbours use the driveway, black bin, and if your dogs barks as my Jack's Russell's does you won't get on with them. Even though the neighbours have a dog, who barks at everything when in their garden.

Loved the cottage.

Didn't like the area a bit run down.
