"Great views. Very tired house with poor plumbing."

4.0

Great views and location. Great host who communicated well and met us at the apartment.

Serious plumbing issues. Little to no water pressure. Broken taps and house in general need of some serious maintenance.

Outstanding location. Plenty of room and it was very comfortable.

One or two things needed fixing (eg the tap in the kitchen) but Theunette said she was about to get round to all that.

"Has great potential"

6.0

The view from the living room was superb, straight onto the crashing waves of the Atlantic. The accommodation was within walking distance of supermarkets and, more importantly, Bird Island: one of the most spectacular features of the natural world when the gannets take residence. Oh, and matching light switches to lights in the main living room provided hours of entertainment.

Well, it's a case of past glories. The house has many good features but is in urgent need of renovation. The water pressure varies from good to a trickle. Toilets would comically give themselves a minor flush for no apparent reason. Kitchen units were generally fine, but those near the sink/cooking area either needed a deep clean or replacement. Another issue was one which is beyond the owner's control. This relates to beggars asking for money through the very windows that provide the Atlantic view. More worrying still, one evening after dark, there was a knock at the door, and a middle-aged, fair skinned woman was asking for money or food. Our feeling of guilt at turning her away turned to anger when we saw her happily filling a shopping trolley at the local supermarket! In a country that is hyper-sensitive about domestic security, an unexpected nocturnal knock at the door raises concerns.

Very spacious accommodation with front line sea view. Nice to sit and watch the waves crashing in.

People knocking on door trying to sell curious, smell of drains outside ( no smell inside).
