Weekend away with my elderly mother, everything perfect for her lack of mobility (except the step up into the shower). Fantastic amenities (the hot tub was a great surprise), and in stunning surroundings!

Lovely rural location on a working farm, but not far from a good sized town to get groceries etc. Lovely property, clean and comfortable. Good hot tub and new sauna available to use in the garden area

The facilities, location and friendly helpful host. The outdoor areas and hot tub were great also. I don't think the pictures of the accommodation on the website do it justice. I only noticed there was a hot tub after I booked when looking at other reviews!

Nothing!

The bedrooms were very comfortable. Walk in shower a plus. The owner had left a fan on as the weather was very hot- in the evening you could open the front & back door and get cooler air. The Stables was well appointed with everything you might need for a self catering holiday. Marcella was an excellent host, and she left a goodie box & small milk on arrival. I loved going out at midnight and looking at the amazing night sky. Red kites fly nearby, as close to a Red Kite Feeding station. My sister loved the trips to nearby small towns- Kirkcudbright especially. Ate in a Greek restaurant in Castle Douglas one evening- well worth a visit.

Forgot that the table to eat was on high stools- which didn't suit my sister- OK for younger guests! We didn't use the hot tub- I had read it was overlooked by the other holiday let and didn't bring a costume.

Everything was perfect with the property it wanted for nothing and the new outdoor area they are currently building looks as if it will be great.

There was quite a strong pungent smell in the air most times I presume this was something to do with it being on a poultry farm which to be honest Marcell did mention it was a working farm but nothing was mentioned about the smell. We were out most of the time so it wasnt a massive issue

Such a well-equipped ( everything has been thought of), cosy cottage in a perfect location for us! The welcome goodies were so thoughtful and very much appreciated. The grounds of the cottage are beautiful- hot tub and children’s play area a very big hit for us!! Can’t recommend this cottage enough. I certainly can’t wait to visit again!

It’s a farm so from time to time there is a smell which I guess should be expected but with 2 members of our party being extra sensitive to smells it was a slight issue for them but otherwise nothing we didn’t like!!!

The whole family (partner, 3 & 10 year old) enjoyed our stay here at the Stables. It's a lovely, well-appointed place in a great location for exploring what the region has to offer. It exceeded our expectation particularly in that we didn't know it had an outdoor hot tub when we booked! Don't know if that will always be a fixture but it was superb for a little bit of relaxation after a long day of activities. The welcome basket of food was an extremely nice touch. The host (Marcella) made us feel very welcome and gave lots of great advice on the surrounding area. It's also great that while it's still a working farm (bear that in mind), outdoor space has been given over to a lovely playpark/grass and pond for use by guests. Would definitely stay here again.

It would be good if the living room window was fully working - the faulty mechanism (which is noted on arrival) made us a bit nervous using it.
