Ruapehu Retreat - Waimarino

It was very warm and cosy, instructions were clear and everything was easy( key location, heater instructions, dishwasher etc). Very easy location to find, close to a very well equipped 4sq.

We were coming to walk Tongariro and within the last day or 2 the Mountain was closed, due to 100km wind gusts! We would have liked to move or increase our stay, but as we didn’t know this until after the free cancellation 7 days passed when contacting the owners the response was a generic -No Free cancellation after 7 days. Would have good to have some ability to adjust dates due to the weather. Did walk to the Tama Lakes which were an awesome walk. Also we only had 1 towel each.

Excellent layout for 3 small families, warm, well equipped. Walking distance to the shop and pub. Loved the morning and arvo sun decks

Loved the layout of the home, great for a family group. Well equipped kitchen, warm, lovely gas fire, sunny, quiet street

The beds were too soft for 3 of the 6 of us, roll together and sore backs. I slept on the floor the first night wrapped in a duvet, the couch the 2nd night and used a bunk bed mattress [which was lovely and supportive thanks] the 3rd night.
