Quinta da Mata

Very clean and comfortable. Helder was a fabulous host with recommendations of where to visit and eat. Plus the breakfast every morning, the bottle of wine from his Quinta and the homemade chutney for our sandwiches. Well stocked fridge and pantry with juices, cereal, milk, yogurt, ham and cheese was perfect for dinner in as the weather was challenging at times. Thank you Helder

Owner was lovely. Very friendly, spoke very good English, He left homemade wine, made on his vineyard, and homemade jam made by his mother or mother -in-law. He also left milk, juice, two kinds of ham and cheese. Every morning, he left several kinds of rolls and sweet pastries. When we left, we bought another bottle of wine and a jar of the homemade jam.

The only comment I have is that there is not a small oven. That would be icing on the cake.

Comfortable, clean apartment. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary appliances. The host is extremely kind, very helpful. The countryside is beautiful. It is very suitable for visiting Geres National Park.

We missed a covered terrace (because of the rain)

Host is top class. Friendly, welcoming and informative and with excellent english language. The property is spacious, well appointed and of quality construction. The views from the terrace are far ranging over the village and hills with fruit trees and vineyard in the foreground. The property is within easy driving range of Ponte da Barca, the pretty local town which has a great range of shops, restaurants and cafes. The Peneda-Gerês National Park is also accessible easily by car with limitless opportunities for hiking, etc.

Very difficult to fault.
