Cortegaça House

Location, construction, surroundings. Totally convinced this house should be extraordinary in the winter.

This is not a suitable summer house. The pool was impossibly hot to use - we had 7 children and we couldn't use the pool, since the only time they tried two of them felt ill given the excessive heat and humidity. The staff had no idea how to turn off just the heating system in the pool, so they decided to turn off the cleaning system and after 2 days, given the heat and humidity, the water quality was unusable. Overall, the house was incredibly hot, mainly due to the skylight - which looks great but makes this a winter house exclusively - and the AC did absolutely nothing to help manage the temperature. Lastly, the information on the number of beds in the house does not match the number of beds actually available. We had to purchase air mattresses for some of the kids, which is not ok. Had we known that the number of beds did not accommodate 4 adults and 7 kids, we would have opted for another house.

Casa bem grande, com capacidade de receber grandes grupos. Piscina com água aquecida, com zona mais rasa e zona mais funda, ótimos para as crianças. Casa totalmente equipada com utensílios de cozinhar e loiças para refeições em grande número. Frigorífico enorme, e com um grande congelador. Espaço externo muito agradável com churrasqueira e mesa para refeições ao ar livre.

Falta de ar condicionado nos quartos. E a piscina com necessidades de restauro no chão.

It was a quiet area completely surrounded by nature. The pool was lovely (in need of maintenance though).

The air conditioning didn’t work, they’re were lots of flies in the house, the electrical panel kept going down if we had the lights in the pool on. In general, the house needed maintenance - there were cracked windows and walls needed painting.
