Aqua Sea House

De plek vlak aan zee en het huis zelf was briljant!

Alles was goed!!! Maar 1 kleinigheidje; de douchekop bleef niet goed vast hangen.

Aqua Sea House is honestly one of the best accommodations we've ever stayed in. A huge thank you to the host, who was incredibly thoughtful and went above and beyond by providing far more than we expected. The house is exactly as shown in the photos—beautiful both inside and out. One of the standout touches was the beach essentials basket, which included everything you might need: towels, a bed sheet, glasses, plates, a water bottle, and even items for a beach picnic. The beach itself is just across the street, only a 10-second walk away! We were also pleasantly surprised to find extras like fishing poles and sun hats, which added to the experience. The rooftop terrace is a true gem—it offers breathtaking views of the mountains and a nearby waterfall, with a partial sea view from one corner. It’s the perfect place to relax after a day out. Inside, the living room is very spacious, and the kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook during your stay. Another thoughtful detail was the welcome treats we found upon arrival: two cold beers in the fridge, bananas, biscuits on the table, and a traditional drink—all of which were so appreciated after a long flight and arriving hungry. It made us feel immediately at home.

The house doesn’t have air conditioning, and during hot weather, it can get quite warm inside. Leaving the windows open helps cool the space, but since the window faces the street, it didn’t feel very private—people passing by could see directly into the room. There is a fan available in the house, which we placed next to the bed and it helped. The bed is a bit small, though it wasn’t a major issue for us. Lastly, we did notice some ants in the kitchen. That said, it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t affect our overall experience.

Die Strasse war etwas laut.

Místo je fantastické, na pláži, (bohužel s velkými kameny, takže koupání je pouze pro velmi otrlé a jen když nejsou vlny, což není skoro nikdy) s výhledem na moře na jedné straně a na skalní stěnu s vodopády a banánovníky na straně druhé. Vyhovovalo nám i to, že jsme mezi místními a není to turistický resort. Vybavení prostorného apartmánu nechybí vůbec nic, najdete zde úplně vše co potřebujete (a spoustu věcí co snad potřebovat nebudete např. rybářský prut). Welcome drink velmi potěšil, stejně jako snaha o personalizované uvítání. Možnost vaření, nádobí je dostatek, všeho druhu. Posezení na horní terase s hamakou jsme si opravdu užívali. TV a Wifi fungovaly bez problémů. Místo na zaparkování jsme vždy našli do 50 metrů od apartmánu. V Madalena do Mar je několik skvělých restaurací, vše se dá zvládnout pěšky (bohužel tu není žádný rozumný obchod s potravinami).

Z ubytování mám rozporuplné pocity. Check-in nebyl dle našich představ, komunikace nutnosti předat scan ID dokladů na poslední chvíli, což je provázeno technickými obtížemi. Přímo pod okny vede silnice, sice lokální, ale často jsme si zde připadali jako v kamenolomu, jezdí zde i hodně náklaďáků, což znamená hluk. Postel byla malá a velmi nepohodná, pro dva nevhodná, cítíte každý pohyb partnera, a on zase ty vaše. Podlaha má velmi zvláštní úpravu, a i když byla čistá, vypadá jako popraskaná a zašpiněná. První dojem není nic moc. Uspořádní apartmánu není logické - vhodnější by bylo do ložnice umístit jídlení kout a tam co je obývací pokoj umístit spaní (kvůli hluku, prostoru a pohodlí).

Wonderful location, right next to the beach. You can hear the sound of the ocean in the apartment. The apartment was sparkling clean, very well equipped with everything we could need. The bed was comfortable. During my next stay in Madeira, I will gladly stay there again.

Lovely little house facing the sea from the front and a waterfall from the back (there is a terrace with a hammock). Tasteful minimalistic decor, very well equipped. There is everything one would possibly need during the stay.The owner is very helpful. Loads of nice places to eat around as well as cook at the house. It is perfectly located on the sunniest part of the island. Local coffee place and a bar at the beach. Highly recommend this place!

Nothing really, If I really have to say something, then unfortunately, at the time, there were a good few mosquitoes around, so we had to keep the windows closed. Installing a mosquitiera at the window would be practical. Few more shelves to put clothes in the bedroom.
