CASA RURAL LA PERLA NEGRA

The view is amazing, like flying. Very well equipped. An amazing garden. Rufino, the owner, is a very nice person, very friendly and always helpful. I could write a lot of positive comments but I suggest you to read the other reviews because I would write exactly the same but without the negative things.

Location is stunning and nice, comfortable facilities. Lovely garden and pool.

The house lacked a few essentials such as toilet paper and proper soap for the bathroom and shower.

La Perla Negra is an outstanding retreat. Many come to Tenerife to visit its beauty, but here, you are engrossed in it with every view. You really feel you have the whole island to yourself. Its privacy and quiteness are worlds away from tourist hot spots. The house itself is thoughtfully designed and crafted with a mix of traditional culture with modern appliances including TV/Wifi/washing machine. We have enjoyed utilising the very well apointed kitchen to dine at the house, relaxing after a days exploration. Central heating accompanied by a log fire has kept us warm throughout and the sun warmed pool a great added feature. There was no need to go on an organised stargaze at the peaks as we relaxed by the pool watching the clear night sky twinkle into the late hours. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Meeting us at a designated place to guide us on the exciting route to the house and providing clear instructions on its running for our visit. We have visited the Island many times before and have never encountered such perfection, so much so that it was a chore to leave each day. La Perla Negra has ensured our honeymoon is unforgettable and we hope to visit in the future.

It's just a beautiful place , far from the hustle . A place to find quiet and peace. Not too far away from the next village and lots to do around the island

The view was amazing and the house and property beautiful. It is a very peaceful and secluded place, perfect for anyone who wants to get away from the busy city life and be close to nature. Nice paths to walks in the beautiful forest area around the house are easy to find with some guidance from the host. The host was very helpful and friendly. The host met us at a meeting point and guided us to the house on the first day. The coast is only 20 minutes drive, with nice areas to visit with towns and beaches and natural reserves with paths for hiking.

Unfortunately, the area is often cloudy and a few degrees cooler than the coast, so next time we will come back in a warmer season with less clouds. Almost every morning we had clear sky and beautiful views of Mount Teide.

We arrived late in the evening due to flight times and the host met us nearby to guide us to the villa. This was a nice touch as there are two ways up to the villa. The one to the west is safest - less steep - and the host took us this way. I would recommend a car which can cope with very steep hills and very sharp turns, you will need to three-point turn a few times to get to the villa. The villa is high up on the mountain and the views are amazing when the sky is clear. The patio area is lovely and spacious and the area is quiet and relaxing. The kitchen is functional, the shower is powerful and there is a lovely sitting area overlooking the town at the bottom of the mountain which is impressive in the dark. Bed on the hard side but depends on preference as to whether this suits you. We had an issue with locking the door due to the weather but the host came to fix this very quickly. Despite the weather we really enjoyed our stay, it was the perfect location for our quiet getaway.

Not a criticism of the villa as cannot be helped, but there are a lot of millipedes which will appear in the villa. This may have been due to the bad weather on the week we visited though. The power tripped a few times but this improved over the course of the week as it got dryer. The host did show us what to do if the power tripped which was useful.
