Absolutely everything was perfect

Ideal location for our planned trip to Kapiti Island, which unfortunately was cancelled due to bad weather.

A clothes horse would have been useful to hang up damp items.

This is the perfect little beach shack, with furniture that reminded me of my grandparents house. It's simple and is meant to really be the place you sleep while out enjoying the local area. Rooms were simple, beds were simple, kitchen was small but functional and the bathroom had clearly been updated as it was lovely. Instructions for getting keys were clear and simple to follow, overall the stay was good and really convenient. It was awesome waking up each morning to the beach and had beautiful views of the sunsets each afternoon.

Again, no problems but the house is a tired old place. Water tight and perfectly placed across from the beach and only a short walk from all the shops you need - but please don't expect this to be fancy or super comfortable.

The sheets and towels were nice. The location was very good for views.

The grounds are impossible to negotiate. The gardens particularly on the driveway side need attention. The retaining wall fence is about to drop down onto the driveway. There is no access to the front of the building. You have to be a mountain goat to access the back door. No handrails there either. The key was almost impossible to get out of the lockbox. There were 2 and nobody could open 1 of them. The wiring is archaic as is the laundry & outdoor toilet.. The house is hot as Hades, maybe no insulation in a hundred year old house made of asbestos board. We managed to get the FreeView tv working after installing new batteries. The 7 cups were dirty stained chipped. So were some plates. We washed everything before use as the standard of hygiene was suss. The 3 seater lounge was so old, gross. The living room chairs covers were filthy. Gross. The curtains were ancient and the tracks need repair. Conflicting instructions as to cleaning before leaving. We left 3 loads of bedding towels etc on the line with 1 load to go as we had to catch our flight. Dishes sparkling clean. Not sure if we've been penalised for not finding the big green bin to dispose of our kitchen rubbish bag.
