Casa da Eira de Santo Amaro

The host was attentive and friendly, and the house was a small quiet village in a mountain setting. A great place to base yourself for hiking the many local and GR trails

This was a unique experience. The Casa is in a very tiny grouping of old stone buildings which surround a small chapel (10 ft from the front door). The roads were extremely tight and we were glad we came during the day light. The space inside is basically 2 rooms and a bathroom which have totally been renovated. It was very clean and there was everything you need to fix a simple meal. (There is no place to eat nearby). It was nice to sleep with the windows open and enjoy the fresh air. It wasn't completely quiet though. The farm next door had some early rising roosters, the little pack of village dogs liked to bark, and the church bells ring loudly every 1/2 hour from 6am to 10:30pm.

In all honesty, the bed was very hard and uncomfortable and I would have appreciated a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Just amazing

We were welcomed by the host and hostess, who were very thoughtful and friendly, as they provided us with a a bottle of wine, Chorizo and a baguette. The room is beautiful with all kitchen utensils provided. Very new and modern and well layed out.
