"A wonderful week in a superb property ,enjoying our much loved Saltburn and surrounding areas. Nobody wanted to go home!"

10.0

It was light and airy and had absolutely everything we needed. Beds and chairs were very comfortable. Everywhere was clean. There was always hot water and the shower was excellent. The children enjoyed the bath! The kitchen was very well equipped and had plenty of plates , mugs, glasses etc. It was home from home by the sea! They even provided towels for the beach. It felt as if we were staying in a house belonging to friends who wanted to make us as comfortable as possible. There were even treats for a dog which were woofed by a canine visitor. The welcome pack was generous and well thought out and included a bottle of wine ! I liked the small extras like an extra set of door keys. This is very rare.

This isn’t a dislike but it would have been good to have a stair gate on the landing. Our children are 8 and six and there was just a chance they might get up in the night. I think there had probably been a gate at some point. As it happened they both slept well and there was no nighttime wandering. There was nothing to dislike about the property.

"Excellent family home, great location, well maintained and spacious for a family holiday."

9.0

The house was spacious, with every facility required for a stress free family holiday. Location so close to the beach was a hit with our two children 7 & 9 who loved their ride in the cliff lift to the beach. There was an abundance of books and games left for them to try and we really appreciated the little hamper left for us on arrival.

It would have been helpful to have had some clothes storage in the children's bedroom. Saltburn is lovely, quaint and small but very busy tourist area and parking is at a premium. However parking is free ( a rarity these days) We only managed to park our car in the street near our property once the six nights we were staying. Camper vans appear to be permanent fixtures taking up a lot of available spaces.

"We loved Saltburn and can’t wait to visit again."

9.0

The location was great, turn right and you have beautiful beach, turn left and you have lovely independent cafes & shops. The property was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The welcome pack was great. Rex & Katie went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay.

Nothing, everything was great.

"Superb property in a superb location with excellent hosts."

10.0

I don't have a bad thing to say about Rex and Katie's place. It is superb: incredibly comfortable and well equipped with a fabulous location right in the town centre and minutes from the beach. Communication was second to none: on arrival, it was easy to get in using the lock box and the property is beautiful, arranged over two levels. The decor is lovely and the kitchen has everything you'll need (thank you for the lovely, thoughtful welcome package, including dog treats!!) It really ticked all our boxes. We wanted somewhere with a fabulous beach for long dog walks, but also not too remote as we like to be able to go out for a drink or to eat in the evenings. Saltburn is the perfect location for this: it's a tidy, well maintained, little Victorian seaside town which has benefitted from a certain amount of regeneration but also feels relatively 'unspoilt', and it has a really nice community feel. The lower promenade and the pier have enough in the way of traditional beach front facilities but not so much it's overwhelming or 'tacky'. There's a row of smart beach huts which are obviously well maintained. There are numerous very good independent bars and cafes in Saltburn - we loved The Guns Bar and the Pillar Box which are both very friendly with a good selection of craft beers. We also had nice Thai food from Coco & Rum. In fact there are so many great places to drink and eat we didn't have time to sample them all. There's also a really handy Sainsbury's a few minutes walk along the street. The beach is dog heaven - flat and sandy, especially amazing when the tide is out. We walked to Marske for coffee and cake, and also did a walk along the clifftop towards Skinningrove. For shorter walks, the Valley Park in Saltburn is lovely and our dog liked splashing about in the stream there. We also did a short drive to Staithes (I recommend the museum there) which is pretty.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

"Lovely stay in a lovely place."

The location is excellent. Easy walk to shops and restaurants.

The stairs were a bit steep for my 80 year old mum but she managed. She enjoyed the three days we were there.

"Definitely recommend."

10.0

Probably the best equipped holiday let we have stayed in. The welcome pack and toiletries were first class. Very comfortable bed and very helpful hosts. Would definitely recommend.

The living room floorboards were very creaky. Not a problem for us, but likely not very nice for those staying below.
