Villa Las Salineras

Beautiful villa, great location for hiking, lovely pool / gardens, very peaceful. Good communication.

Hot water not working properly. TV broken. Kettle doesn't switch off. Broken glasses, broken coffee machine. Bedding and towels very worn. No mattress protectors, stained mattresses. Blocked bathroom basin and shower. No instructions or property information. Upstairs patio door doesn't lock. Parking gate doesn't work (parked on the street). Big gap at bottom of kitchen window, lets in draft. It is not clear from the listing that this is in fact two apartments with separate access. We had access to both, but if you're with a larger group bear in mind you will be somewhat separated. How to make hot water work (sort of): First make sure the gas cannister in outdoor shed is switched on. Fully turn on the hot tap that is next in line to the one you want, and leave it on. Then turn on the tap you actually want to use. For the upstairs, the hot water sequence is kitchen sink, bathroom basins, shower. For downstairs, shower, bathroom basins, kitchen sink. Because of this, you will only ever get lukewarm water at the upstairs shower and downstairs kitchen sink.

Beautiful villa, nice and clean pool, spacious, the small village of El Palmar is welcoming and offers some restaurants, the host is very nice and helpful!

The villa is located in the mountains and its about 4 degrees colder there than down at the beach, would not recommend for dec-jan, as the heating and the hot water system are not too reliable. On the last night a water pipe broke, but the host did everything in their power to solve the problem as quick as possible.

After walking to and from Beunavista del Norte , the pool is a perfect remedy to chill down . The pool was also fantastic in the morning

Villa Salineras is my favourite place for 2023. I stayed there for 20 days in July and booked to return for a long week in September. The villa is comfortable, clean and spacious. The pool is without doubt the cleanest private pool I saw all summer. If you expect super luxury, you need to pay accordingly. I found the villa to be excellent value for money and will be my first choice when booking for 2024.

Hot water system is a bit random, but gets there in the end.

Villa Salineras is a wonderful place to stay. I recommend it without hesitation. The villa is clean, offers 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms and two kitchens. The top kitchen is fully equipped with an excellent oven and capable of cooking any kind of food you wish. The swimming pool is maintained by a professional and is always in top condition. (This does mean he visits every 3 days to do his work). The lower garden is private and perfect for sunbathing and barbecues. There are 3 enjoyable outside spaces. The environment around the house is SUPER quiet. You can count the number of cars which pass every day on one hand! The owner is quick to respond to any questions or problems. El Palmar is fairly isolated and only offers one restaurant and one pub/bar, but they are both great for the evenings, with genuinely friendly staff and only 2-3 minutes walk away. I felt welcome at all times. I stayed for 20 days in July 2023. I liked the villa so much, I booked again to return for 8 days in September.

The hot water system is not perfect, but with a little experience, you can make it work ok. The washing machine was not working well during my stay, hopefully it will be replaced soon.

Extremely cold villa. No hot water due to weak pressure from portable gas unit. Literally spent 2 weeks doing everything with cold water. Shower super old plastic cabin which falling apart to pieces, sprinkling water into your face through cracks in the plastic, drain was blocked by previous customers, dirt everywhere, they didn't bother to clean the place at all. Bedding, towels and blankets unwashed after other customers. Dogs piss smell inside the wardrobe! Absolutely shocking. Metal gate lock is on the way out. You have to slam it to close the gate. Coffee press in kitchen was broken, I had to beg guy who doesn't speak word of English to glue it somehow. Kettle disconnects so you have to play with it before it starts. Half lights are dead. One door outside has broken lock. Swimming pool Extremely dirty, no attempt to clean it in 2 weeks. Dump and general dirt smell throughout property it felt like it never been cleaned properly ever. Floors cold as ice. Oven has broken parts. All and all EVERITHING BROKEN in there and noone cares. Owners became extremely aggressive when all the above was reported. She scared me with her messages of anger. Lies about shop nearby, there is none. Not even one shop to buy water. Stay away, there are better places around. These people don't have any respect for you, your time and your money.
