Yellow Cottage, Doolin

We weren't sure what to expect from Yellow Cottage. We knew it was an old workers cottage but seeing how well it had been renovated was wonderful. Just about everything had been thought of and it had been tastefully decorated with quality fabrics and bed linen etc. And the heating worked well as it was still cold for May. A loaf of Irish Brown bread, six organic eggs, milk, homemade strawberry jam and butter had been thoughtfully provided. The location was gorgeous. It was in a very rural area a five minute drive from Doolin but there were other houses dotted along the country lane so it didn't feel isolated. Really pretty garden with distant views across to the Cliffs of Mohr. A great spot to watch the sunset.

The kitchen and bathroom were tiny but fine for a three night stay. The nearest large supermarket SuperValu is at Ennistymona which is a 15 min drive so plan a grocery shop carefully if you want to eat in. Saying that Russells Restaurant also managed by Fiddle & Bow is only 5 mins up the road by car.

Very cute cottage, plenty of privacy and great value for money - the extras like jams/milk was incredible. If the place had a bath or hotub i'd be there all the time.

Warm cozy clean comfortable

We absolutely loved this little cottage. It was the perfect size for our group of three and such a nice change of pace after many B&Bs to have a little bit more space and cook our own meals. The surrounding area was absolutely gorgeous and it is remote but still very close (less than 20 mins) to a few pubs and a grocery store. It was a little cold and rainy while we’re there but the heating is very powerful and kept very cozy. The staff were also kind enough to help me arrange a courier service for an item I left behind. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The only thing that was tough for me is that road into the property is several kilometers of blind single lane road that was doable but a little challenging for me to drive - not really a problem of the property but just something to be aware of!

This is a beautiful place to stay near Doolin. The cottage is very clean, spacious and well maintained. It was so cosy and we had a fantastic time here. It is in an excellent location and has a lovely view down to Doolin from the cottage.

I didn't want to leave. The cottage is beautiful, warm, cosy, comfortable, spotlessly clean. Peace. Heaven. I will be booking this cottage again the next chance I get. I've stayed in villas abroad and other Airbnbs. None of them made the impression on me that this cottage did and some of them were beautiful. My soul connected to this cottage in a most unexpected way. Credit to the owners for the renovation, which retained the essence of the cottage and keeping things minimal and traditional, while fomenting a house that is at least as comfortable as any modern A rated house. I love this cottage. It would be great if it had a covered seating area outdoors, that's the only thing I'd suggest to make it better. Other than that, this is everything you could ask for in an Irish cottage. The site is beautiful and private, the road is quiet. The robotic lawnmower wanders around the garden like a parent with dementia, to keep you company. Splendid. Gorgeous. Can't wait to go back 🩷🩷🩷
