Casa do Ilhéu - House of Ilhéu - Câmara de Lobos

The property is in an amazing position, with a great view. The balcony can be used for an invigorating breakfast and romantic dinner. Kitchen with everything, even staff you probably never used on holiday. The fridge is great. Comfortable beds The host was very communicative and ready to answer any questions.

Probably the stairs to reach the house, but after a couple of weeks touring Portugal we had a good training 😜

Outstanding position with great views over Camara de Lobos and only a short (but VERY steep) walk to all the town's facilities

For a patio with such a wonderful view, the outdoor furniture is poor. There was just one, super comfortable, upholstered deck chair (which we had to ask for), but the other furniture consists of two, ugly, uncomfortable plastic armchairs without cushions and a wooden table and four chairs with loose cushions. Trying to relax here for more than one person is uncomfortable. There is penetrating damp by the outside door in the utility room, by the window in the main bedroom and halfway down the stairs which has caused the plaster to fail.

The house is in top condition, there are not many hosts who really think about every detail and provide all necessary facilities, Carla is certainly one of them. Location is perfect, the view is great and the house is very close to some nice restaurants and bars.

The house and its equipment is just perfect, the beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen too, everything in the house is really comfortable. The equipment is next level. Carla's service was also perfect and the self check-in is very flexible. All home appliances are of very good quality.

The location of the house is the only thing that killed our vacation vibe. This house and Carla's service at a peaceful location would get a 10/10 rating from us. The house is hard to reach when carrying all your luggage. We were staying 10 nights so had 2 big and heavy pieces of luggage and the parking recommended by the host was a bit too far to carry everything up the hill to the house. When we arrived 4 junkies surrounded our car to ask for money so that made it even more uncomfortable as we had to shake them off and then had to cross the hobbly bar street full of people with all our luggage. Dropping off the luggage in front of the house wasn't an option for us, as also for cars it's hard to access and we are experienced drivers on italian small roads but this one is next level. We also didn't like the overall location Camara de Lobos as there are lots of junkies who try mingle between the restaurants and tourists. Some homeless sleep at the entrance of the parking lot that comes with the house and there is no security guard (there are cameras though). The parking is open (everyone can access) so we didn't feel safe in and near the parking on weekends or evenings, when there was no traffic from locals. The city really has a strange vibe, lots of drunk local men and neighbours constantly kept their window shutters closed which made us feel people generally don't feel safe. The streat near the house was also a bit noisy, since hooting is how madeirians handle bends in the road. One of the reasons we booked this house is because we like to listen to the ocean during the night, and this wasn't possible here since all window and shutters need to be closed during the night. The good part about that, is that you don't hear anything during the night. During the night the neighbourhood is totally quiet.

This place was an absolute dream! I honestly feel like the property is better in every way in person than the advert!

The property is in a great location and is really well equipped. The kitchen is great with all the equipment we needed including a coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher. There is a washer dryer too. The location is central in Camara de Lobos with a lovely sea view and terrace and is close to bars and restaurants. A good supermarket is 5 minutes walk away. We would highly recommend Casa do Ilhéu.

Excellent location near restaurants and cafes in the heart of Câmara de Lobos. The place has recently been renovated and it has everything you need. Highly recommend it!
