Casa de la playa

The breathtaking view, the size of the casa, the rock pool at our doorstep, the location close to shop and restaurants. Everything we needed in the casa including water and condiments for cooking. Manfred was a delight and also helped us arrange a local taxi when leaving. Very quiet residential area, with non-english speaking extremely friendly locals. We left feeling extremely relaxed and swear we will return for much longer next time to Casa de la Playa.

Only one small negative was I woke up first and second morning with lower back pain. Probably just change of beds from home but the mattress in the main bedroom is very hard. Not a major issue, I slept on the softer sofa bed for rest of stay and back issue resolved.

The location. We enjoyed seeing the fish in the outdoor pool. We loved everyone walking past the balcony on their morning and evening walks and swims, saying ‘buenos dias” and having time for a chat. We talked to so many people. It was very friendly and sociable. The house was also very comfortable and well equipped. Manfred was so extremely welcoming and helpful at the start and end of our stay as well. He also introduced us to communicating via google translate!!Thank you so much. We will definitely be back in the future. All the best.

We would have liked some cushions on the sun beds, as we found them a bit hard for our old bones!! However, this is a very small thing. (And it actually meant we spent more time out walking and exploring, which was good!)

Manfred was very helpful and responsive in his communication. Our flight was changed and he arranged to meet us late at night to hand over the keys which was kind. He provided us with a direct dial in case of queries or emergencies. The property itself is in a very beautiful location, looking right onto the sea pools which was great for an early morning swim and quick dips to cool off. Hearing the sea and waking up to that view was amazing and the location was so handy for popping back and forth to get drinks or use the toilet. The apartment was well kept with a well stocked kitchen, spacious living accommodation and nice decor. There was a small supermarket right behind the apartment which was really useful to get daily provisions. Manfred provided plug in and spray repellents for mosquitoes which was thoughtful as I hadn't packed any. There was no designated parking spot but parking was free and plentiful and only a minutes walk. There was an upstairs terrace with a washing line but no seating, amazing views though. On the ground floor terrace outdoor seating, table, sunbeds and parasol were a welcome addition, outdoor cushions would have been a bonus. Really great for a short break if you want to avoid the main tourist centres.

It did get very busy with lots of people positioning themselves right in front of our outdoor seating area which wasn't very relaxing, fortunately we had a car and went out for days exploring and finding quiet beaches. There was a vibrating/pumping noise intermittently throughout the day and night which I needed to use ear plugs to block out. The bedroom was quite small and the mattress was a little hard for our tastes but it was very clean. Air conditioning or ceiling fans would be a great addition as it did get very hot at night and I didn't want to leave the windows open being on the ground floor. Mosquito screens on the high louvre style vents would be useful and I would have been more inclined to leave them open then (I suffer badly if bitten).

The house is so comfortable, very nice decorated, spotless, spacy, great terrace and a roof terrace as well. Above all a fantastic location. The view is magnificent, natural pool is just in front of the house. Manfred is a very good host, great customer service, attentive and punctual. Muchas gracias Manfred, eres un hombre muy amable.

nice location close to the sea

The location in the heart of this charming peaceful fishing village was perfect. The view from the spacious terrace was wonderful. The sitting area is comfortably cosy but feels spacious being open to the kitchen and eating counter, has glass french doors to the terrace, and high ceilings with louvered windows high on three sides which allow the sound of the ocean to be heard even when windows in the bedrooms are closed. There was a well stocked grocery just up the street. Walks in either direction along the coast or a short drive away in the mountains. Easy access to Manrique tourist attractions.
