Quinta do Cobral

De locatie is prachtig en Richard en Ishbel zijn ontzettend aardig, behulpzaam en beschikbaar. Het huis is gebouwd op een rots en dat zie je ook binnen terugkomen. Het is voorzien van een goed gevulde keuken, een ruime badkamer en een groot slaapgedeelte boven. De veranda buiten is erg mooi en de houtkachel binnen geeft een idyllisch gevoel. Het huis is ideaal gelegen om het berggebied van serra de Estrela te ontdekken.

Toen we aankwamen was het zwembad dicht. Dat zou op de site staan. Maar toen ik dit nakeek stond er dat het open zou zijn vanaf april. Ze hebben het zwembad zo snel als mogelijk zomer klaar gemaakt, maar hierdoor hebben de kinderen de warmste dagen het zwembad gemist terwijl we naar ons idee wel een redelijk bedrag betaald hebben voor dit huis. Het terras ziet er prachtig uit maar het mist een fijne louncheplek. En het zit er vol muggen, maar dat hoort dan weer wel bij de natuurlijke locatie. Binnen is geen tv, maar dat wisten we. Het stapelbed was wat te krap voor onze kinderen van 10 en 8, maar dat was op te lossen door de matrassen op de grond te leggen (daar is het ruim genoeg voor). Een belangrijk punt vonden wij de zandweg naar het huis toe. Als je de pech hebt dat je een te lage huurauto hebt, dan kun je hier wel echt in de problemen raken en brokken maken. Check dit goed!

This is the most amazing place which has been so lovingly renovated by Ish & Richard who gave us the best welcome possible,nothing was too much trouble It's a little piece of paradise,the attention to detail in trying to think of everything is amazing. The dogs,cats,chickens,ducks only add to the sense of peace and tranquility.Ish & Rich are obviously passionate about their imprint by being off grid and eco friendly which is an absolute tribute to them both. We had the most amazing stay and will definitely return and encourage anyone thinking of visiting this area to stay here, you will not want to leave.

Absolutely nothing! It is a place of peace and tranquility with everything you could possibly need.

Breakfast was simple, but good. The second night we bought some more supplies from a local supermarket. The house was great, cozy, warm. There was firewood ready for us to maintain or light up the stove that heats the house. This was a lot of fun, as the kids aren't used to live fire and were able to help lighting it up. The bunk bed was a lot of fun for the kids as well. The surrounding area is so beatiful. Kids were able to wander around, go nearby the river, play with the dogs, the cats, check on the ducks and chickens. They really enjoyed it.

Nothing really. Everything was great and either matched our expectations or even exceeded them. Totally reccommend this place if you are looking for vacations of peace and quiet.

Beautiful, quirky, cosy little off-grid Quinta with a lovely private salt-water pool. Stunning location - slightly off the beaten track but easy access to village/town amenities just up the road. Amazing hosts. Friendly animals! Great access to fabulous roads and views of Estrela mountains. Highly recommend.

The beautiful location and relaxing atmosphere made this a great place to stay. The hosts Ishbel and Richard were kind and helpful. It’s a lovely retreat, close to Oliveira and I hope to come back soon.
