La casa sul ponte

Un soggiorno indimenticabile in un luogo davvero magico. L’appartamento si trova in una posizione unica, proprio sotto un suggestivo ponte medievale, immerso nella storia e nella tranquillità del borgo. La casa è stata ristrutturata con grande gusto, mantenendo il fascino originale: travi in legno a vista, mobili antichi e un’atmosfera calda e accogliente. Ogni dettaglio è curato con amore, dalle immagini storiche ai libri sul paese, che permettono agli ospiti di scoprire e vivere Mercatello in modo autentico. Un’esperienza che va oltre il semplice soggiorno: è un vero viaggio nel tempo. Consigliatissimo!

We loved everything about this apartment! Spacious, comfortable, and quiet, in a magical setting. Nice restaurant and bakery in small town center. We visited in December, so didn’t get to eat in the downstairs dining area/patio, but we hope to return in warmer weather.

the power cut out a few times during my stay. also not a lot to do nearby but that’s not their fault! otherwise, nothing :)

The location was simply beautiful as is the house, done up to very good specs in a traditional way. The owner is a delight, friendly, perceptive, helpful and generous with the most delicious cakes her mother, a professional chef, makes from traditional recipes. The location was peaceful on the river by a renaissance arch into the lovely old village of Mercatello with shops, bars and restaurants. The countryside is beautiful, beside the house is a little chapel and a path to a waterfall where you can take a dip or walk on into the wonderful mountains and historic castles further up the valley. The house is very spacious and the large riverside entertainment room must be deliciously cool in summer. It is well equipped with beds and bedding. The riverside terrace is built right into the great arches of the old Roman bridge.

I wish the open fire had worked.
