"A beautiful house in the heart of picturesque Agaete valley"

10.0

Casa Rural La Asomadita is situated in the picturesque Agaete valley, offering stunning views, especially during the evenings. The house is quite spacious and well-equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed its fully equipped kitchen, spacious swimming pool, and the high-quality pool table

It would be great to have a few more plants around the house instead of a concrete yard. Additionally, the internet connection and WiFi signal distribution could be improved

"What an amazing villa - highly recommend!"

9.0

We absolutely loved the house. It was spotlessly clean and the pool was cleaned every day before we got up. The photos do not do the property justice, it is absolutely immense. We were two families with young and teenage children and there was plenty of space for them to play but also stay away from each other when needed. Each family had a different wing of upstairs which was brilliant for us. The outside space is fantastic with different areas to sit and relax. The kitchen is very well set up with a coffee percolator, juicer, blender, and lots of utensils and appliances. There is a huge pantry and massive utility room with two adult bikes and helmets (which we didnt use). The pool room was great fun with a comfortable sofa. We used the large BBQ almost every day. There are plenty of toilets and showers. The two big double bedrooms at opposite ends of the house each have an ensuite - one of them is the biggest bathroom you've ever seen with both a shower and a bath with shower over as well as a table and chairs! There is also a bathroom with bath and shower over on the landing for the two twin rooms. Downstairs there is a toilet which is useful when using the pool and the floor between the pool and toilet are all stone and dry quickly. We spent a lot of time in the pool which is very deep so even though it isnt the biggest holiday pool length wise, the depth makes it perfect. The setting and view were exceptional - nestled in the mountains with a lovely sea view. There was virtually no noise because it was in the middle of nowhere. The owner Miriam was extremely responsive.

There was no air con. Whilst it says that on Booking.com, other websites the property is on says it has air con. As Brits we're not used to the temperature and we did struggle at night time. When we asked for more fans Miriam purchased additional fans and brought them to us. It is a very windy part of the island and so the doors and windows did slam if you forgot to prop them open. We are used to more information being available at the property such as how to use the appliances and how to separate the rubbish and whether it is collected or (as was the case here) you have to take it yourself. Miriam responded immediately to every question but a welcome pack would mean you wouldn't need to bother Miriam. The property is remote and on a winding mountain road, with a younger child we wouldn't walk to any shops or restaurants in Agaete, which meant we did need to drive everywhere. We were fine with that, but if you're the kind of visitor that wants to be out drinking and in bars then this property possibly isn't for you. If you're arriving late you must stop for supplies nearer the airport. We were delayed, landing at 10pm and didn't stop at the first supermarket we saw open which we regretted as everything nearer the villa was shut by the time we got there. There is no welcome pack of milk, juice and bread at the villa which meant we went without anything to eat and drink for about 15 hours till the Spar Express in Puerto de las Nieves opened at 9am the next day. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with a large variety of plates, bowls and glasses for every type of meal and drinks. However the pool signs say no glasses round the pool but then didn't provide any plastic glasses to use which meant we didn't really drink enough during the day. Some poolside drinking cups would be welcome.
