I chose Briars Hall Hotel expecting a luxurious 2 night stay as a treat for myself, whilst attending my friend's wedding celebration. In another location. Staff were helpful and polite, the hotel and grounds were impressive.

My room was spacious and clean but very much like a travel Inn or something similar. I expected a more luxurious room. Room 112. Staff were polite and helpful when asked but I was most surprised when leaving this morning, I went to reception, 2 members of staff were there. I placed my key and feedback form on the desk. Said thankyou but was not acknowledged. There was no fairwell. The feedback form asked if I'd been impressed by any member of the team. As none of the team introduced themselves and didn't wear name badges I couldn't comment. My breakfast was different on the second day, the portions were smaller and I was given 1 round of white toast placed on the plate with the breakfast. I didn't complain I felt a bit petty but I would have enjoyed my toast separate so I could have enjoyed it with a sweet topping like jam or marmalade.
