Kytherian Harmony - Paleopolis Estate

Villa Venus is a ground floor apartment adjacent to a lovely established garden and olive orchard with great views down to the beach. The apartment which isn't huge was just perfect to two people, offering a comfortable indoor seating area with modern kitchen and well appointed bathroom. The bedroom was large, with large louvered windows opening to a covered deck where we spent most of our time. Andreas our host was very accomodating, he joined us on our first night and left us well versed with things to do, see and eat in Kythira. Villa Venus is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive down to Paleopoli beach which is a long white fine pebble beach. 5 minutes along the coast is Avlemonas Village with great food and drink options and many small swimming platforms allowing access to the harbours clear water. Kythira was the highlight of our Greece trip. The many villages, the great walking trails, the size of the island, nothing was more than 20 minutes away from Villa Venus remain in our memory. Not forgetting Kaladi Beach our vote for best beach in Greece. Cheers Andreas all the best and thank you for letting us stay, we hope Kythira remains a hidden gem.

The setting was beautiful with a view of the sea from the patio. The room was very comfortable, with a small kitchenette which catered for most needs. The fridge had a small freezer section too. There is on-site parking. The host, Andreas, was very helpful. He had prepared a map with notes and recommended places to visit, and was also very communicative while not being intrusive. Located near to a number of beaches and the town of Avlemonas which was wonderful. Most beaches have umbrellas and loungers to hire with some free if you use the cafe. It is also close to the ferry wharf so convenient for when we left.

Not being able to flush toilet paper. This had to be disposed of by placing it in a bin. Not a huge problem but took some getting used to.

Very clean and modern appartment in a good location with nice views. The host was very helpful and he gave us very good advice on the island.

We absolutely love our stay in the Coop! It’s the perfect amount of space for two people. It has a very comfortable bed, a shower with brilliant water pressure, and a living room/kitchenette area that feels spacious and overlooks the ocean. The outdoor patio is brilliant as well, and we enjoyed drinking our coffee there each morning. It is best to have a car, as it’s about a mile and a half outside of Avlemonas, the nearest village with restaurants and shops, but you can walk down in about 30 minutes if you’d like to. Andreas was an incredibly kind and responsive host, and we hope to return!

We found the beds in the second bedroom were very hard

When we arrived we got a full introduction to the island with a map with all places marked. This was likely the best check-in experience I had.
