Room was cold

The hotel itself has obviously been upgraded and the fittings and decor are all excellent. The grounds are kept immaculately too. The staff, without exception, were friendly and made a good team giving a relaxed atmosphere to match the background music which was pitched perfectly.

With a property of this age and planning regulations what they are there were quite a few windows showing signs of wear. Also the bath in our room was very, very high and quite difficult to get in and out of. The grab rail, however, was perfectly placed so we made do.

The room was spacious and warm. Lovely view over the fron lawn. Quiet and huge bed.

Staff were friendly but not warm and welcoming. The room was too warm so we had to open the windows wide at night.

Good location, staff were all lovely. We stayed 3 nights as we were attending a wedding there. Fantastic venue for a wedding. Over the 3 days we had breakfast, dinner twice and the wedding meal. All food was excellent. Nice bar area to sit and catch up with friends Rooms were comfortable, great shower. Would definitely recommend

Having to leave

It was easy to find, clean, and set in some pretty grounds.

The room had a waterfall shower which is quite impractical. Our room was above a function room which was very loud until 11pm one night. The room had 6 hangers, but just small bedside drawers, so very little storage for clothing etc.

Great location. Very comfortable. One of the best hotels I have stayed in this year. Superb breakfast
