Well presented, looks impressive, spacious, well maintained, very clean, absolutely everything works as it should. Friendly, courteous, professional staff. Surrounded by vast lawns and superb scenery. Hotel felt very safe and welcoming. Excellent breakfast on offer.

The lift works only for the first floor, rooms 201-207 are accessible by stairs only, and there are lots of steps to climb. Room 207, being a loft conversion, has window only on the roof, so only view is the view of the sky, not of any of the beautiful scenery around. Location wise, it is well outside Dumfries, so there are absolutely no shops or restaurants nearby.

Interior of bedroom was lovely

Breakfast wasn’t great, bacon & potato scone were overcooked. Also didn’t think it was appropriate having workmen repairing windows as we were eating our breakfast
