Holiday Cottage Santa Lucía 2

The town of Santa Lucía de Tirajana is a superb location for walking, hiking or driving in the stunning mountain region of Gran Canaria. The roads through the mountains are mostly in excellent condition and the local drivers are very courteous towards visitors! The mountain drives from Santa Lucia to Tejeda, Teror and Galdar are stunning! The house is located next to the beautiful church and has plenty of parking either right outside of the house or in nearby car parks. It has a typical Canarian character with a spacious, well furnished, and comfortable living area. The large double bedroom has a big bed and ample storage for clothes and there is a nice second, single bedroom. The balcony overlooking the mountains is a delight! Coffee at sunrise and wine at sunset..... The kitchen area has only a two ring hob and no oven, but is otherwise well equipped and there are four restaurants within walking distance so why cook!. Restaurante Rincón Casa Antonio is particularly nice and the other three, Restaurante Mirador Santa Lucía, El guata grill and Cafetería La Caldera De Tirajana are well worth a visit! Tourist areas on the coast, such as Las Palmas, Maspalomas and Puerto de Mogán, are easy to drive to, and well worth the effort. The drive to and from the airport is also easy. Our host Carlos was very helpful and responded to messages almost immediately. I would highly recommend a stay in Santa Lucía de Tirajana and, especially, at Cottage Santa Lucía 1!

We had the most incredible time in Santa Lucia. The village is very cute and far from the most touristic places, perfect if you want to rest. The host was incredibly kind and helpful. The house was very cute and clean. How delightful it was to enjoy the sun on the terrace while refreshing in the pool ! We recommended this location to our families and friends more than any other places that we went to in Gran Canaria !

Nothing ! Everything was perfect.

My friend and I had a wonderful stay at 'Casa de Carlos'!  The property is nicely maintained and surprisingly spacious. The terrace is a good size and although it overlooks the road, this is a mountain road and therefore not super busy or noisy, apart from the occasional motorbike convoy! There are two good restaurants at the bottom of the street and two others which are a short walk away. It's easy to park (if you have a car) and there are two convenience stores and two bakeries nearby. The mountain road is a little scary to drive on, but it's fine after a bit of practice. It only takes an hour or so to get to the beaches on the south coast. Everywhere is easily accessible by either braving the mountain roads or jumping onto the motorway. Carlos is a wonderful host and couldn't do enough to help us!  If you want to experience Gran Canaria without staying in a resort, if you love to wake up to beautiful scenery and are looking for a relaxing break away from the crowds, this is a great place to stay. I thoroughly recommend it.

The property would benefit from having a newer 'Smart' TV so that guests can log into their own streaming services, such as Netflix etc. As my friend and I were there for two weeks, we did spend some evenings in and found the English- speaking channels to be a bit limited, (mainly news channels)

Carlos went above and beyond in helping me when I packed US adaptors, rather than EU adaptors for my phone and computer that I desperately needed. Santa Lucia is a quiet sleepy place with no hardware store, Carlos somehow got me two new adaptors from the coast and had them driven to the cottage that very evening. Very clean and tidy.
